The reason we're sheltered here is that not many people are interested in Thor. When that changes (which it will), the number of posters will jump up; and statistics being what they are, some of those (owing to a troubled past) will be malicious or downright deranged. It's happened on the GGP board, where there are lots of intelligent and decent people; but among the crowd, a few bully boys, who are spoiling for a fight.

If you wish to read my 935 posts, you'll see I don't do that kind of thing. And since Mr P's departure, I don't think there has been any ramping on this board. User, Illaquens, Herne, Expru, myself and others are optimistic about Thor; that's why we've put our money here. But I don't see that's anything to be ashamed of.

Newmont decided to bring in Agnico, in order to reduce their (Newmont's) exposure to the project; but that's counter-balanced by the fact that Agnico wanted to put its money into the project. So the decision seems to me value-neutral; or mildly positive, if Agnico is willing to take a smaller resource into production than Newmont would be.

BSG may have been right in the past (though the share price is only about 25% down on where it was a year ago); but the management team has changed, and the past is not a reliable guide to the future.

Actually, my objection to his posts is quite different. They're very tedious; the wit of Oscar Wilde is not to be found in the breast of BSG.

Thanks for cheering me up on this. "The market doesn't get it," as Gervaise Heddle said about GGP. I'm the one one who bought GGP at 3p in 2011, and saw it fall to below 0.1p in 2015; and held. So I'm not selling OMI.

You may be right in para 1, that there's nothing to report. But a CEO who is good at PR, will put out a video of him (or sometimes her) self standing next to a drilling rig, and talking about what he or she hopes to find. It's a morale raising exercise; but morale is important to the share price.

To be fair to Brad, as I understand it, travel in and out of Australia is not easy, because of covid restrictions. But surely he could have asked the exploration manager to put out a video. OK, it might be in Spanish with subtitles, but it's still better than nothing.

Thanks for the reply on this. With these mining companies, if one's a geologist, one can make a judgement on the resources; but if one's not, one has to fall back on a judgement of the managers. Question 1, are they honest? (not absolutely honest, but sufficiently honest not to stab the shareholders in the back). Question 2, are they intelligent? Question 3, do they know their subject?

Here, I think the combination of Nicole and Mark Potter is right. He will do the corporate and financial stuff (e.g. the sale of Pilot Mountain, negotiating joint ventures), and she will do the geology.

It looks as if their plan is to bring the copper resource at Alford East and the tungsten at Molyhil into production, to give the company some revenue; and press ahead with exploration at Ragged Range.

Potter strikes me as a cunning fox; and I don't believe he would be putting Artemis' money into Thor, without a viable strategy for the company.

It's interesting looking at the info on this. The influence of Artemis extends beyond Potter; for we have Alastair Clayton, who is an executive director of Artemis, as one of our non-executive directors. And then I note that Nicole has managed to appoint another woman, Kate Pearce, as project geologist.

It's difficult to explain certain things; but I feel safe with this company. We'll be OK. It may take time; but we'll do well.

This thought had crossed my mind, too. As far as I know, Nicole is the only female CEO in the junior mining/exploration sector. If anyone knows otherwise, do tell me.

The markets are irrational. But it's nice to see a bit of reason returning into this particular share price. Below 20 seems silly to me.

I regard this as good news. It strengthens law and order, and the position of President Duque. Otoniel's base was in Antioquia province, which also contains Anza; and one of his many activities was illegal mining. We're better off without him.

If Billing wanted to sell a large amount, I don't think he'd do it on the open market; he'd arrange a deal with an institutional investor that wanted to buy in. I know this is how the chairman of Hochschild reduced his holding in that company about two years ago.

I've enjoyed reading your recent posts. As you say, nothing's gained by quarrelling; and fortunately this billboard is good-humoured compared to some of the others I've looked at (including GGP on a bad day). I've not thought about Thor much recently, as I've been busy teaching; but I'm happy to have about a third of my capital here (the other two thirds being in GGP and OMI).

I'm sure Nicole would be pleased to know that you consider her youngish. According to the RNS of 27th April, she was then aged 53.

More seriously, I agree with you and Naise that having a female CEO in a sector that is almost entirely male is a definite plus point (provided she's competent, of course). I started buying Thor soon after she was appointed, in the belief that the company was changing for the better; and subsequent events (departure of Billing, appointment of Potter as chairman) have made this one of the very few forecasts that I got right.
