Thanks for mentioning this. You're quite right; I hadn't noticed that Ray Ridge is the CFO of Southern Gold. I suppose the unanswered question is, why would Wittwer want to leave Southern Gold for Thor? And is his move connected to the departure of the managing director, Simon Mitchell?

I hope everything's OK at Southern Gold, as I have some MTR, and therefore an indirect interest.

Here's the bio of Wittwer from the Southern Gold website (which should be updated, as he's no longer employed there).

"Paul Wittwer is a Geologist with over 15 years’ experience in exploration, mining and resource development. He has worked on Gold and Copper Projects in South Australia and Western Australia, low sulphidation epithermal systems (Eastern Australia, Thailand) and high sulphidation epithermal systems in Chile. Mr Wittwer has a broad experience of the full resources cycle, having performed both Senior Exploration Geologist and Senior Mine Geologist roles, taken exploration targets through to full production and reconciliation and was involved in the approvals process for the start-up of the Tarcoola Gold Mine. Mr Wittwer is the Competent Person for Reporting of Exploration Results."

I like the idea of taking exploration targets through to full production. The sooner, the better. We need to have an income; it doesn't need to be much; just enough to cover the salaries and the exploration costs.

I think one of our non-execs, Mark Potter, may have had some influence on the appointment of Paul Wittwer as exploration manager. Potter is the chief investment officer of Metal Tiger, which has a substantial holding in Southern Gold, which is the company that Wittwer has come from. Southern Gold may have a problem, as the managing director announced his departure at the same time.

One has to realise that these decisions are shaped by one's own experience. Not so long ago, I had £10k to invest, and GGP was 2.1p. I thought, I'll wait for it to come back to 2p. But it never did. I then bought back in at 3.2p, on a rising trend, and I thought, O, I'm a fool, I'm paying too much. And the price now? 17p.

Metal Tiger is a copper play, not a goldie. The only reason it's up, is because Simon Thompson of the Investors' Chronicle, has recommended it again. He's right, of course; and so's Hydrogen, too.

The spread is slightly less fearsome than it appears. I bought 1,304,440 at 0.766.

Thanks for the reply. Selftrade was a good website to use, in my view. On Brexit, I think it was a mistake; but so far the negative consequences have been felt mostly in Northern Ireland, and by UK exporters to the EU. Prices in the supermarkets here (England) have not been affected, so far as I can tell.

On OMI, we'll be OK. I was going to buy anyhow, but intended to put the order through in two or three small batches, at 21p; but instead hit the button to send the order to the dealer, which meant I paid 21.25p. It's a comedy of errors.

Yes, it was actually myself. Or to be more exact, my mistake. I hit the wrong button on the screen; interactive investors is a website I detest, and don't understand (I was transferred over from Equiniti, without my consent, like some 18th century slave). Pedro Castillo's very narrow victory is confirmed. My understanding is that he has moderated his previous leftist position of nationalising the mines, and now talks about taxing them heavily. My guess is he'll tack further to the centre once in power; but I'm not an expert on Peruvian politics.

Of course, our assets are in Colombia; but political events in a neighbouring state are relevant to politics in Colombia. And I hope we can see less violence and more dialogue there.

We need to look at it from his point of view. It's not easy being a CEO for the first time, particularly when you have a hard act to follow. We should support him, unless he does anything which is clearly contrary to our interests.

Good to see plenty of volume today. At least, people are interested; the worst thing is to be ignored.

I've not bought any recently, but I know when I last did so (in May), the spread turned out to be much less than advertised on this website. But, more generally, you are right to say that the spread is a problem with these small AIM companies. It will diminish, as we become more actively traded; but that's a story for the future.
