This war in Iran will push the gold price (and of course, the oil price) higher. I'm not particularly in favour of it myself, for innocent people will be killed; but that is the decision the US president has taken.

Dr's last sentence I entirely agree with. It takes time to build up knowledge of a company, and time to acquire trust in its management. We're lucky to have Brad as a CEO; and the quality of the drilling results (in gram-metres) is remarkable.

I have sent Brad and Louis a congrats email, saying well done, getting to the MRE. I think it's important that they know we appreciate what they have done for us. There are two good things about a rising share price. (i) It makes one richer than one was before. (ii) It's nice to see the optimists being proved right. I'm thinking of Nap, Legal and Dr.

Even if it's only part of his salary, he has still bought shares.

I don't think we should be fussing too much about the character of Mr Brewer, one way or the other. He's not the CEO. The question is, do we trust Richard Lloyd to take the project forward? This is a matter of assessing (a) his competence, and (b) his honesty.

This kind of share price performance over 12 months doesn't happen by chance. It takes a lot of skill and a lot of work; by Brad and Louis, and the geos and other staff on the ground. As mentioned, I sent a congrats email to Brad and Louis on New Year's day ( and had a nice reply from Louis); I'm glad I did that.

I'm slightly more charitable in my interpretation of the CEO's words than you are. When he spoke them in October, I think he believed them to be true. But the delay of three months in the transfer of funds (and therefore completion of the purchase) forced him to do a fundraise at the present price. My guess is he's less than happy about being compelled to break his word.

I paid 5.7 to go back in this morning; having sold at 5.85 on Friday. I don't expect the price to rise much on completion of the purchase; it will, however, certainly fall, if the payment instruction has been cancelled by GMI (which is within the bounds of possibility, given past behaviour).
