RE: The market23 Dec 2024 15:02
Hi, Dr
My interpretation of what happened at GGP is slightly different. It rose before each result, in anticipation, and then fell on the day of the announcement. But I see it is possible to argue that the causality was the other way round, and that each rise was determined by the last result, rather than the next one. Markets generally are future orientated, and I think this applies to exploration companies in particular.
The most significant news today, in my view, is the increased investment by 1832 asset management. I cannot believe that a subsidiary of the Bank of Nova Scotia would do this, without first employing a geologist to assess the results at Pepas and Apta, and estimate the probability of either or both supporting a profitable mine. Large and successful banks do not do what I do, which is to take a decision based on the intellect and character of the CEO. That may be one factor they consider, but it will always be accompanied by research into the fundamentals.
