Manc is right, MM said the price wasn't an issue it was the governance. But Apollo know that their improved offer has interest so if they increased the price, leaving the governance the way they wanted it, it will erode that 50% even more.

That is why, to me, MM not only not trying to extend his GS in September but releasing it a few months early makes me think he MUST have support if Apollo come knocking again otherwise he has left himself wide open to losing his 'baby'.

It was the support he received that thwarted Apollo not the GS. But support dropped from 65% to 50% due to the second offer.

Now GS has gone any improved offer from Apollo will prove a LOT harder to turn down as it will reduce the 50% still further.

That's why I think MBO is being lined up to head off any future offer as he has no GS safety barrier.
