The first two sponsored by Boil (Now SNDA) , With Chuditch the main brief, Sundagas has had stall and podium duties at all, SG also gave seismic briefings on all area, not just Chuditch. All have been well attended and did nothing for their bid round, only 9 bids on 7 of 18 Huge licenses.
The World has known, what lies in the TL section of the Timor Sea, since the 1970's, countless big fields, drilled and drained and continue to do so, in the Australian and Indonesia sections of the Timor Sea, all on trend, with TL waters the under explored filling in the sandwich. The latest Santos Barossa, going via new pipe to Darwin East Complex that has been IDLE, for getting on 3 years, while new pipe laid and Bayu-Darwin REVERSED for carbon capture.
It, as it always has been, when do they come off the fence, probably the same answer as it's been since Gusmao spoke in Parliament in 2002 (first PM)
Not until the talking stops and some pipe/refinery BUILDING starts or becomes officially FUNDED (Was $16 - $18 BILLION - now modular etc a bit less)
Lots of Roads and other Infrastructure and many millions spent annually for many years, on site clearance, coastal/port preps, new homes for those uprooted, loads of roads and a highway, for connections to 3 sites, Beaco, Metinaro and now all roads lead to Natarbora.
One day they will build the only thing that counts, a PIPE/S & PROCESSING home for the Oil and Gas onshore TL.
The oil side still ok for the moment, small refinery at Betano still operational, under original Tasi Mane, to be expanded and refurbished, latest a NEW refinery and petro-chemical plant also at Natarbora....
23 years of imminent to the Island talk, time to BUILD...........GLA
