RE: Only 6 weeks of trading left leading up to Christmas Eve ..13 Nov 2025 15:13
it's peanuts, already spent and wasted tens of millions on plans for , beaco , metinaro and now,its all going to natarbora the new site location, roads, village resettlement and new homes etc etc, been slated in the local press by ngo's as the people suffer malnutrition and stunting amongst other things.
without the funding from elsewhere, the only things that matter, the refineries, will not be built , as has been the case since gusmao as pm in 2002 ****ed the sector off, declaring he has made it a decree law, all must come to the island, he was not just talking sunrise. which at the time was set for produciton at darwin in 2003, with the eastern complex, at the time majority already built by woodside.
back then the bill was estimated at $16 - $20 billion, tech and equipment have moved on modular etc but it's still a huge wedge, they can not pay themselves, would wipe out their sovereign petroleum wealth fund, that has paid 85-95% each year of the islands entire budget.
tl have talked big , spent and over egged the pudding for 20 years, until we see others making positive funding commitments, its no change.
the majors and tier1 players that left frustrated at no to darwin and no to flng, know what is in the ground , around 25-30 tcf from sunrise, chuditch and the monster kelp, with far more to find in their section of the timor sea, while indonesia and australian timor sea area's have been prolific since the 1970's.
ideal scenario for us, inpex/japan banks, or a similar group, come in and fund the real infrastructure , pipelines and refineries, the big boys return.
for perspective santos , allocated 400 million for it's barossa to darwin pipeline, look on a map , chuditch to bayu then on to tl natarbora, is about the same distance.
hopefully after 20 years of tl , its coming to the island soon, it will be, australia under the maritime boundary treaty have first dibs via sunrise, soon find out if they are going to commit this time, or kick the can down the road again.
tl had 2 projects exports and imports, nothing to stop snda/tg working with another group, for the single string gas/lng imports terminal, it can be done independently of gs and the planned multi string export terminal. pm rauk 2021 stated so, when saying wanted asap 2025/26 with luck, which was 4-5 years ahead of the gs tenders at the time...........as he stated "when gas becomes available"
well that was never going to be gs, so had to be chuditch, could have obtained gas from elsewhere long ago.
the wheels move slowly but they will get there in the end. glalth
