tyche100 I am at a loss as to what is going on. It was SCC that put the pressure on MVDC with that urgent item added the day before the meeting. EOG don't seem to be saying much. UKOG are the majority shareholder and haven't said anything. The only thing I can think of is that they are trying to meet the planning permission expiry on 7 August and initial term of the PEDL licence which expires on 30 September. Anyone else getting delays on here this morning or lack of functions?

Only surprise from Lidsey meeting was fact that they need to apply for any further wells in the future. Holmwood planning application is still on for the 23rd.

Just to put the record straight. The planning application went in to SCC who then sent it to Mole Valley DC for consideration. Mole Valley DC would have then consulted with the 13 Parish Councils which make up the DC. Both Holmwood and Brockham are parishes of MVDC. The meeting tonight will be the view of MVDC (note the name of the case officer is different from the one at SCC) and the outcome will then be forwarded to SCC. So far SCC have not made a recommendation.

I would't bet on it. August is only 3 months away and EOG are the operator. UKOG is the major shareholder. More to this than meets the eye imo. "Europa Oil and Gas has withdrawn all the proposals for managing lorries delivering to its exploratory drilling site near Leith Hill in Surrey. The company has also pulled out of an appeal against the county council over delays in agreeing the proposals. The construction traffic management plan (CTMP) is the last planning condition with which Europa must comply in order to start work on the site at Bury Hill Wood, near Dorking. The site, known to the industry as Holmwood, is near the village of Coldharbour on a shoulder of Leith Hill, in the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Part of the proposed lorry route is along a narrow, winding lane that runs steeply uphill between historic tree-lined banks. Planning permission was approved in 2015 by a government-appointed inspector after two public inquiries and two court cases. The permission runs until August 2018."

The application is, in part, retrospective and relates to the exploration and appraisal phases of hydrocarbon extraction. The site has been present as a feature in the local landscape since the late 1980s, and is surrounded by agricultural land on all sides. It is located over 500m from the nearest residential property and is well-screened in the landscape by a combination of topography, existing hedgerows, trees and bunds along its northern and eastern boundaries. It does not therefore represent a prominent feature within in the landscape. Members are asked to support a recommendation that raises no objections to the proposals for the site which will enable the current activities to continue.
