The loading/discharge point is just below Kingston Marine. You are looking in the wrong place. I'm talking about 7.2ft alongside in the light blue water not the -7.2ft in the green water.

The University of Glasgow has been forced to withdraw an online ban imposed on an emeritus professor after he criticised the fracking industry.

David Smythe, a geophysicist and well-known fracking critic, took the university to court in 2017 after it cancelled his university email address and cut off his online access to scientific journals in the library. He accused the university of trying to silence him because of his views on fracking.

The university has now restored his access, and agreed to pay his legal and other costs amounting to over £12,000. It says it regrets the dispute and has no reason to doubt Smythe’s integrity.

7.2 is the chartered depth in feet. You then add on the height of tide to get the real depth. The Rix Merlin has a draft of 3.2m so she can get alongside at any time. The real problem you have is the cleaning of the tanks between cargoes. Most tankers these days of that size are product tankers and it is a couple of days to clean them before they can carry diesel/petrol/heating oil etc. Not really an option imo especially if they are stopping it even for the amount of oil they use on the island now. A dedicated towable barge would be best if they can produce enough.

7.2 ft alongside. Add on another 4 ft for LW and 12 ft for HW and you can get a decent sized tanker (5m draft easily) in there.

"Flow tests and pressure data from the Broadford Bridge and Horse Hill Wells Sites have been sub-commercial which is why the ‘potential means of recovery’ needs to be tested at Loxley in compliance with SMP Policy MC12. This is precisely why the sidetrack well (L-1z) forms part of the development proposal. L-1z will allow alternate completion methodology, new completion fluids and the possible use of small-bore radial drilling to be deployed in the search for higher sustainable recovery rates. Knowledge gained at Loxley would be used elsewhere within the PEDL-234 licence area to benefit hydrocarbon recovery."

Why would you drill a vertical exploration well and not then drill the others as horizontals? I can see the wells from 2 onwards costing us more than $1.5m each. They are after our expertise after all.

I liked the bit when he said soon to start workover on HH-1. He got that in early.
