Roundtable Discussion; The Future of Mineral Sands. Watch the video here.
Well, if you do read this, congratulations on posting by far the most recommended post I have ever seen on LSE!
No - the guy's been burnt on this one. Look at his comments below. Why, when anyone expresses negative views on a share, do they always immediately have to be short. They are obviously going to have had a torrid time, so why would their results be any good. The only question for me is how much this has already been baked into the price. I don't know the answer to that. All I know is that I'm still down on this. I'm holding, but I'm not adding because I don't know how bad things have been/may still be.
Very sad. I do wonder if these folk quoting all these antivaxxers ever bother to look at the source material they claim backs up their comments. You really think they would as they seem so deep into it, but 30 minutes reading the source document each time (where there is a legitimate source document) would show them they’ve been presented with manipulated b*llo*ks, at the same time as the presenter has rather conveniently earned a fortune from their YouTube channel or other subscriptions.
Has Carltt been banned so he’s now using his ewesfulidiot account instead?
Why? Not sure. Why do people slow down for car crashes? Just morbid interest in other peoples misfortune I guess.
There are a lot of weirdos on here Johny but I have only filtered Carlt because he is such a monotonous bore, with his landlord, landlord, landlord cr*p. Funnily enough I took him off filter for bit earlier and it seems he was the first to recognise in himself that he spouts rubbish all day long. Credit where credit’s due.
I’ll never understand this board. I got a post removed for calling Jimmy Saville the c-word, and you guys spout ignorant, hateful rubbish all day long and that’s fine apparently. LSE must have appointed Farage as a board moderator. The problem with this country is too many people like the people on this board. I’ll include myself in that for bothering to engage.
I quite like the repairs idea. I’m not expecting it to be a major earner, but I send my Barkers back to the company for repairs and actually enjoy doing so. Feels good having them refurbed by skilled folk who know the shoes back to front (rather than Timpsons), and doesn’t stop me buying new pairs - in fact the opposite.
that was unnecessarily rude. sorry stargate. i’ve been reading too much on the lloyds board and it is clearly turning me into a ****.
Quick, call the papers, we’ve found the next Nostradamus in the form of Stargate! Well done for successfully calling a 50/50 chance. Jesus wept. I’ll get in touch when I do my next coin toss.
"Her reputation has been tarnished by Kwateng and an establishment who don't like anything outside the status quo." Oh my god. I have read some barmy things on this forum, but that unquestionably takes the biscuit! She's as mad as a box of frogs, and the most embarrassingly unskilled PM we have ever had. My 16 year old daughter would have done a better job. I also happened to go to the school that she painted as a working class, coal pit, ghetto in Leeds....and that happens to be in one of the most middle class areas you could possibly imagine. She's a cretin.
My advice would be not to seek advice on this board. The regular posters here are either deluded Lloyds fanboys (who, no matter what they say, could have earned far, far more money in almost countless other shares or funds whilst they have been banging the Lloyds drum) or weirdo polarised haters (either leavers or remainders). Speak to someone you know and trust, ideally a professional, and give them the whole story.
Simple reply from me Sjhaycroft. I have absolutely no confidence in the management of this company so there is no way I am putting in any more money. This has been the worst investment I have made for years. No matter what the apparent value of the rights issue is I am not giving these f*ckers any more of my money. This has wiped out some really good returns elsewhere, and I bear a grudge! Not very helpful, but I’m pleased to have it off my chest.
Some really odd chat on this board at the moment. Yes, it’s gone down. Shock horror! Who’d have thought the price could go down! Sit back, relax, and enjoy the divis. If you don’t want dividends why did you buy this in the first place? If you wanted a rocket ship, why did you buy this? This is boring. It will have ups and downs, and the downs are time to top up (if indeed you are looking for dividends). If you don’t want dividends, don’t buy these. If you can’t deal with the price going down, as well as up, don’t buy these - in fact don’t buy anything at all, ever.
He’s entitled to his views, and he’s just as entitled to share them as anyone else. He may be relentlessly negative, but there are far worse on these boards and I haven’t seen him make anything personal. If you think he’s bad, whatever you do don’t look in on the Lloyds board! For what it’s worth I can’t see why anyone would be in this right now. Far too many unknowns that outweigh any potential upside. If you want exposure to insurance there are plenty of other better options out there.
I don’t think they sell s*it like this.
Ooops I stand corrected Warthog. I read the news article not the original source. Always read the latter! Either way, no bad thing one of them is buying, and I can’t criticise Blanc.
You're going in really late on both of those Karlo. Persimmon was a screaming short until recently. I still don't like it, and there's obviously huge, huge headwinds with residential real estate at the moment, but the risk/reward going short now looks far less attractive. Good luck.
It'll come. Blanc is doing well and has just bought some up. It's steady eddy otherwise with the lovely fat dividend to compensate. Not a rocket ship but we all need a few comfy ones in the portfolio. If we get some good capital growth over the next 12 months better still, but for me this is a place to drop off a chunk for dividends.
My worst "investment" by a country mile. Don't blame someone for looking to go short even after the already massive decline. I wouldn't personally - just takes one short to go wrong to get utterly killed - but I have zero confidence in this outfit and its prospects.
