Couldn’t resist a top up here today. A4% divi tax free in the ISA whilst we wait for this enormous beast to turn around, and whilst we wait for the youngsters to realise the secret to happiness lays in the bottom of a glass, doesn’t seem too bad for a long term hold.

Still a long way to go, but hopefully I can start shifting this from my per perennial under-perfomer pile. If they can keep the momentum going, this is finally looking good.

I’m in here and as of yesterday I am c50% down so I have no interest in this failing, but I think those on here who have said this has no resemblance to Petrofac are wrong. Petrofac also shouted very largely about a huge order book. What they shouted less loudly about was that those orders were subject to guarantees being provided (which proved challenging to procure!). If I were senior management looking to sign a massive contract for services that my firm’s profit depended on, I would not be doing business with a company whose share price is plummeting.Why? Because the board would ask why on earth I took that risk. Maybe I’d take a punt if they offered the service really cheap and offered up some financial security. Sometimes fortune favours the brave. Other times reality and human nature kick in and they get burned. Good luck all.

I started buying this I think around the £28 mark (thought I was getting a bargain!) and was clearly out of tune with where alcohol consumption seems to be moving at the moment. I’ll top up if it drops below £20 (and won’t be surprised if it gets there now) but not before then. Already in too deep on this one.

I’ve just checked. One of my more succinct and to the point posts was “I’d rather pick up my dog’s sh*t with my bare hands than buy any of these.” I don’t think you’d call that bullish.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Listed law firms are an inherently flawed business model. The best lawyers want equity - ie a proper slice of the pie and direct control of the direction of the business without being beholden to third parties. That is simply not consistent with listing. That’s why, sooner or later, these die. They only ever benefit the original partner/s at the point of listing. After that, game over.

I think I can summarise the RNS as "Our customers think we're less sh*t than they were thinking a few months ago." I suppose that's progress . I'm not complaining.

No way this is going to £11. £12.50 a few years ago was mentally oversold (that’s when I bought - with uncharacteristic good timing for me).

I'm going to hold I think. Hoping a lot of this has already been priced in and anticipated in the pretty sustained drop leading up to today's results - but it seems clear they need to take some steps to adjust the direction of travel in the UK - though what those steps are when are big chunk of their customers simply don't have enough money, I do not know.

What’s not said is usually more important than what is, but doesn’t look too bad to me - particularly if they are investing heavily in facilities for future growth and profits as indicated, and with the state of the economy generally.

Looks like a leaky ship. I hope not. Interesting comment re the drive thrus below. Anecdotally, from what I’ve seen the high street units and those on industrial estates do always look busy - but I’d agree, from what I’ve seen, that the drive thrus look very quiet in comparison. I saw they’re now offering what looks like McChicken sandwiches etc from those units now which may indicate their usual fayre is not working in those locations. Anyway, fingers crossed for tomorrow.
