Thanks for the reply Surin. So far as I can see the Annual Report would give Sidara carte blanche to walk away - so let’s see what happens!

Do you know the answer to my question - a) was Sidara’s offer conditional on acceptable accounts? And b) has Sidara confirmed they are acceptable?

As I mentioned, I’m a bit behind the curve here, but wasn’t their offer conditional upon satisfactory accounts? Have they confirmed that has been satisfied? If so, I’d bite their hand off.

I don’t often look I here, so apologies if this has already been discussed to death but noticed Fordy’s comments re the auditors report - which peaked my interest. Wow! That is a real shocker of a report. Showed it to my wife who is a chartered accountant who specialises in audit. She said she’d never seen anything like it (albeit she doesn’t audit companies the scale of Wood anymore). Basically means you may as well used the annual report as bog roll. Will be watching this tomorrow. This company is a proper crock of sh ite!

The direction of travel is clear, and the suitcases are on board and laden with debt. The conductor will arrive any minute with a massive tax bill and the ever looming threat of further regulation (the latter of which is quite frankly probably justified in light of the human damage companies like this contribute to). If I fancied a flutter, I'd keep some cash to the side waiting for the imminent crash in price of quality stocks when AI goes t8ts up, rather than spend it on these.

Agreed - this is an unusual one - and lots of older folks are maybe not so aware of changing drinking habits in the young. My personal thoughts are there definitely is a change in drinking habits in the young in the west - but there's also masses of potential in developing markets and I think a LOT of bad news is already baked in. We shall see!

Not sure; but if it is, it's still covered at a time when we're hopefully bottoming out. Genuine question, and I'm not one of those who objects to people who aren't holding commenting on companies (that has always struck me as rather odd), but why the interest if you never invest in individual shares?

Funnily enough I think the Motley Fool has also, within recent days, tipped it as a buy. Each to their own, but it's not a voice I would give much credence to.

No doubting it feels a bit glum here at the moment when everything else is going up; but you'd be a genius to have everything going in the same direction at all times. This is unquestionably out of favour at the moment, and there have been some good reasons for the drop, but I'm confident the tide will turn.

I’m up over 20% this year Cfen and don’t do funds (other than in my pension). Just spread the risk across plenty of quality companies. Some you win, some you lose, but you only need a couple of big winners to fly. I’ve got a substantial holding in DGE (currently running at a loss) but it’s more than balanced by the winners - and a decent iron in the fire if news flow changes. It’s already been beaten down to hell.

Never heard of this until it appeared on the charts today - but top marks for a great name! Pleasing to see not everything has gone woke.

One way to look at it JCB. Another way is to think of the potential profits being missed out on by bailing out. I don't have the time or inclination to day trade so have to think longer term. These are a strong mid to long term hold from here in my opinion. They have hit the sweet spot for property assets and are sweating them nicely. Lots of thick, meaty gravy ahead.

No dividends today LSE- just ex dividend day, dividend payments will be later. Either way, I'm comfy holding at these levels.

I’m in these GWM but I’m not a big poster! For me these are a big and steady tech play without hopefully all of the froth of the usual suspects. Nothing not to like really. This company is colossally capable with crippling barriers for competitors.

I confess I haven’t read it yet, but just listening to a summation of the provisional report headline points. So far as I can see, these will Impose the same sort of requirements as are currently the case for, say, legal services - which are required to provide prices on line for certain services and give details of costs up front where possible. Re getting prescriptions online - this may impact recurring prescriptions - but where you need a short term treatment in connection with an appointment surely most people will still buy on the spot. Be interesting to see what the market thinks.
