BTC and ARB have been horrendously over bought, not horrendously over sold. For those folks who jumped on relying on the greater fools, fair play, if that’s your sought of thing - but if you’re still holding now, what the hell are you thinking?! The party’s over.

Plums, not plumbs!

I had a friend who had a vasectomy. The doctor cut the wrong tube. His scrotum filled with blood. It was like a black grapefruit. A week later it was like a pair of plumbs at the end of summer. Small, dried up, waiting to die and fall off the tree. That scrotum my friends is Argo Blockchain. Not quite a bubble that burst immediately. More a bloated horrible blood filled void that once the artery was severed deflated very quickly before dying, but technically didn’t burst.

It maybe something to do with the major shareholder and directors of the company selling huge shareholdings shortly before dumping out horrible RNSs, and then blaming Covid for poor performance when every other law firm worth their salt was having record profits throughout the same period. Maybe. Re the leadership “buying in” - a token gesture and sop to the market? Maybe. Look how many shares they dumped beforehand. What they’ve bought back is a fraction. I do not see that as an indicator of confidence in the business - but that’s just me.

Canetoad/erratum - The tension between you guys is sizzling! Brings back memories of Kylie and Jason. I’m sure you’re both decent blokes with better things to do with your time than bicker. Time will tell who is right. Nothing else.

Volcano - you were right to take your profits. Still feel comfortable holding but was surprised with the size of the one day drop here today. Like another has said on here though - at least gives more value on the buyback.

Must be - and reference to Trian making a substantial investment. Gets me to break even point at least. Fingers crossed this keeps going from here.

Well done CaneToad for having the bottle to bail out at this point. Lots of folk would cling on in hope, and that often proves to be a poor call. Who knows, this may come back a little, and I hope for those who have lost here that it does, but there are obviously better and more stable investments elsewhere, particularly with all the uncertainty we have at the moment.

I’m staying firmly in here. It’s been a nice ride, and should still have plenty left in the tank. No doubt will be lumpy, but hopefully fairly inflation proof.

I’m genuinely please for those who are recouping a little bit of their losses here today, but so far as I can see, nothings changed. Same strategy as before. Buy middling firms with a few rainmakers who can’t otherwise see a way out, and take on more huge fixed overhead when others (the good ones anyway) are looking to reduce theirs. If you bought in yesterday, very well done indeed. Otherwise, let’s face it, this remains a massive car crash (albeit some potential short term gains for the brave). All in my humble opinion of course.

Not just those two. Other officers appear to have fortuitously decided to make big sells shortly before the big drop. Gosh, they were lucky!

Went in too soon!

I buckled today and bought in at 2450. Hoping the Chinese start to loosen up on lockdown and start treating themselves to lots of lovely porky goodness.

I used to follow this stock but haven’t looked for a while and was surprised to see it at this level. I’m tempted to get in here. Can anyone sum up the reasons for the massive slump?

Great news! In a change to the agreed deal, the partners in Langleys, the new bolt on, are now getting cash rather than shares in the business. What a superb vote of confidence in the business! Onwards and upwards!

This response is exactly why I have never posted before and probably won't bother again! Honestly, I thought these forums were for discussion, debate and looking at various sides. Yes, I clearly have a strong contrary opinion to you. I'll kick my own a*rse for not posting sooner! Genuine good wishes to all on this board; but maybe just attacking someone immediately who was trying to give some insight isn't the best for a healthy, informed board going forwards. All the best.

Not really trying to deramp, just add in something from another point of view. Have been reading posts on LSE for years but never posted before as did not really have anything worthwhile to add. Not many listed law firms (for good reason!) but i this is an industry I know. Just really want to highlight that (as with all businesses I suppose) there are things folks need to be aware of. I can understand why peeps would be tempted here looking at the charts - but my honest belief here is that the fundamental structure is horribly flawed. I’d stress again this is my humble opinion based on the model, and not on any analysis of the financials, but i can’t believe there aren’t better prospects for peoples hard earned money than this. That’s all.

Oh dear. First rule. Don’t invest in a business you don’t understand. Second rule. Don’t encourage others to invest in a business you don’t understand. You may get lucky with a bit of day trading here, but it seems to me the market has finally realised what this is.
