The MidEast crisis will dissipate in the short and immediate term. Iran won't escalate. It won't dare provoke Israel right now. Oil price will subside during the week and IAG take off post-results. Longer-term some limited Iranian retaliation is possible - retaliation which it can "plausibly deny" but which might, nonetheless, provoke Israeli wrath (what wouldn't?).

I agree with LWHL. I think equities generally, and retail in particular, are unlikely to gain much ground until next year - and possibly well into next year. Even this assumes that the wider geopolitical situation (in MidEast) doesn't further escalate. Bill Ackman warned at least a year ago that stocks wouldn't recover until end of '24, and I think he was, as usual, prophetic....
