Looks great...still isn't quite clear though on whether people are meant to wear masks when they're actually watching the films? This is slight issue I think people are underestimating how much people don't want to wear masks for long periods therefore this could be offputting. I'm hopeful once your sat down you do not have to have it on the whole time...otherwise it seems difficult to enforce and also a policy that would be slightly all over the place as about 2 thirds of people will be eating while watching.

Eventually this will get round in the media more and will see the change in sentiment as the US drives the market in general aswell as being a specific driver for cineworld obv.

We've been told we might never have a vaccine so getting on with life really is the only option imo...otherwise you would end up in an endless cycle "just 6 months" "just 6 more months" waiting for the next potential vaccine that might not work.

Whilst the main US cases graph is only showing a plateau or very slight fall, the positive cases per test ratio is now dropping. The good news is with theatre/live shows and music events closed for the next few months, cinema is the only form of creative entertainment people can go out and watch (other than outside theatre but this isn't a big market).

I'm hoping on a practical level there would be some understanding that this is something people should aim to do rather than be enforced during the movie itself just otherwise it doesn't make much sense in terms of popcorn etc...we know there is a big mark up on this. If people keep having to fiddle with their mask to eat and drink it makes a mockery of the whole thing.

This is true Zoro a lot of people comparing them to their nordic neighbours but the UK is a fairer comparison in terms of their density.

I would rather they just targetted it at the localised areas...local lockdowns and masks for hotspots only to help their local hospitals not get overwhelmed. Otherwise I don't see quite what we are doing, we are not trying to eradicate it we are meant to be trying to live with it, if they keep increasing all the places you are not allowed to show your face it starts to feel dystopian and not like we not truely living or free.

This is disappointing news to be honest...I thought the gov had been going back to regional targetting which was a good balance of covid risk and the ecomomy, they seem to be going back to blanket measures for everyone though. So you basically have thousands upon thousands of people walking around in my many places none of them having the virus all having to wear masks...with no end point to the practice other than a vaccine which they've told we might never have. Sweden still not pushing masks or lockdowns and still the cases have stayed low.

I don't think this can be enforced and isn't practical as a lot of people will be munching on popcorn etc, I don't mind them being worn in the foyer etc. It could be slightly offputting to some people as a lot don't enjoy wearing masks for long periods including me however if this allows cinemas to stay open then so be it.

Very useful figures...aslong as the trend continues you can be fairly confident atleast 70% of their cinemas would be open on the 21st, potentially more.

@BBang yeah I am also in Hyve, got in a bit early so my average is currently down, like cine but am holding for the long term think it will do well, is very undervalued.

Also have bowling alleys opening on Saturday, and eat out to help out starting on monday where everyone can eat out for 50% off mon-weds in August...and great weather the next 2 weeks, all good for sentiment. I took a small loss on my NRR shares to plug in cine today, in order to secure my second future mansion.
