Definitely seems like they were expecting an IPO cool down but the results scuppered their plan. Way I see it is the PE ratio was significantly reduced by the results so instead of being an expensive buzz stock it's not a reasonably priced growth stock.

The results definitely make me feel more confident in my current position.

I think it might be more to do with tax because if they pay 1.6 billion to harbour tax will ve due but uf they loan 1.6 billion then no tax is due and thus it bolsters harbour finances without creating a tax obligation.

Correct me if I'm wrong because I'm not a tax lawyer.

What would that mean regarding the windfall tax? Could we slip it via a US listing? I think we should drastically decrease production on our UK ops until the windfall is removed.

I bought in under 50p based off this thread. (obviously not just this thread but it was the trigger). GLA, looks like a good buy in and in todays tiktok world it only takes one trend to pop and DM will be on top. It's a timeless brand IMO and will weather this storm.

Wish I bought more of that CIV as didn't expect to make such a big return so quick. This one seems to be playing out nicely.

I think some specific contracts could see this fly. Time will tell but I'll just do whatnI always do, which us buy and hold.

Wait, I just realised you're talking about the Sheffield warehouse etc, not the old Debenhams distribution centers.

Did they keep the distribution centers? My memory might be off but I was working as a lorry driver for sport direct in 2021 and seem to remember turning up to the Debenhams warehouse in Peterborough where we collected a load of stuff that MA had decided to buy up cheap.

I got buys at 370 and 320, I'm gonna wait for the results before I buy more.

Sold most of my Rolls royce shares now, Average buy at 105 average sell 450, Would have neen more but I bought this stinker expecting good results after Harbour energy had a good run. It seems like Oil is out of fashion right now.

I was tempted to top up but this stock has had me in pain for some time. It's like Peter Lynch said if you believe in the business then you can tolerate these times and I don't believe in Tullow just bought hoping they'd bounce back. It will probably be the last time I buy an oil company but hopefully it takes off from here.

I second what Waccy says. I literally set up an order at 370p thinking it would go much lower than that.

I've just bought a load more at 320p and it could go lower and then I'll buy more. Nobody knows what the short term price will do because it's based on totally random events. Just buy in a few packages slowing increasing your holding and do the same when selling and it should smooth out the bumps a bit.

I'll feel a hell of a lot better about this once we're back on LSE.

I've actually just finished the book misbehaving by Richard Thaler and it actually talks about this subject as a rebuttal of the efficient markets hypothesis; he shows the performance of low PE stocks compared to high PE stocks and examined the risk. The assumption in this was that the low PE stocks were riskier and thus cheaper but he found they were actually no riskier than any other stocks and that in fact the high PE stocks were often riskier because the price would plummet on the slightest whiff of bad news.

Unfortunately I bought in here at a high price when I should have stuck to my value investing but I got the FOMO and paid too much but I hope I learnt my lesson not to buy anything too hot and stick to unpopular companies.

In regards to RR I have an average of 105p and have sold some at 380p and 430p.

Although the point isn't about if it goes up or down but more to do with the logical error to assume a rise means good things.

Think about if you bout a house at the peak before the credit cruch based on the same logic? It's gone up so someone must know something right?

A reasonable assumption, which then creates the next movement, which then causes the "reasonable" assumptions to continue.

This is the exact kind of logic that fuels the boom and bust cycles. Price goes up it must be because company is good, price goes down it must be because company is bad. It's a huge assumption that is self fulfilling.

Unfortunately I have to agree with Achilles, money is freedom, although I would argue that it's not necessarily a good thing. Sometimes it's the structure that keeps us sane; many lose their minds after winning the lottery.
