He's being smart and not buying all at once, if he tried to buy it in one go he'd ned up paying a fortune. Maybe MA has his eye on their US distribution centre, he could springboard off that into he US with sports direct.
If it weren't for the potential growth I'd be running a mile. Recovery is in full swing and I see RR producing some strong figures moving forward.
Classic Tories, the whole country for sale to the highest bidder.
Agree pappa, I've been burnt on the AIM. RR is currently best performing stock of all and without it I'd be drastically down. I'm sitting tight, I've held this for coming on 4 years so may as well hold it one more.
I'd also like to add that nothing in life will hold you back more than the fear of looking stupid.
Nettles,
I'm just gonna say that knowing what "UT" means is a trivial detail and by no means disqualifies someone from investing.
legendary Investors like Peter Lynch and Warren Buffet actually go so far as to reject all attempts to look smart and that actually keeping it simple can work wonders.
All I need to invest is cash, a broker, and the balls to make a purchase. You can learn stuff along the way and IMO that's the best way; nothing teaches more than experience.
Just reading the last AGM and am hoping this statement holds true.
The Group's execution of its Back to growth strategy continues apace and guidance remains unchanged from that issued previously in May, with an expectation to return to profitable growth in the second half of the financial year as a result of the anticipated benefits from investments being made across price, product and proposition. This is expected to improve Adjusted EBITDA year on year and the Group continues to focus on maintaining its strong balance sheet.
Nice reply Schrödinger,
I always find it strange how people talk about debt like it's gonna bankrupt the business even when it's totally manageable. On one of my REITs debt to assets was about 40% and people were freaking out when I know landlords that are geared up to the eyeballs and will still survive.
I like this method because they don't have to wait for sanctions to be removed which may not come at all.
Yes John, although I like how they've solved it, this way they've technically been paid and could theoretically sell the stock on the MOEX thus getting that cash in hand to spend on caviar etc. I think their ultimate hope is to get them all on AIX but as we all know there's always ine stubborn git thr won't move.
No doubt it will go the way of HS2 millions siphoned off and nothing much achieved.
If you read the changes to the article of association it states that where dividends can't be paid (i.e sanctions, MOEX etc) new shares can be awarded instead. This leads me to believe a dividend is incoming and the MOEX holders will just get more shares that they can theoretically sell on the MOEX.
I think the market is just depressed but as Buffet says iver time the market is a weighing machine and the weight of this should pay eventually.
My personal opinion is to sit on it because it might take a drop nut it will be short lived IMO. RR was always looking to move up and Tufan is a ruthless powerhouse of a CEO.
I was optimistic with a 270p guess but as the saying goes " the bull goes up the stairs the bear jumps out the window" I see a steady rise in the coming days.
Don't mention Rolls Royce here! Could have bought more but decided to buy this just before the SP collapsed! Hopefully this one will boom too. I'm expecting good results next year. Eyes on OPEC meeting
By the looks of it based on the resent announcement of the GM and the article of association it appears they have worked out how to deal with the various MOEX stocks and ADRs. MOEX holders can transfer, if they don't thet can be paid a dividend in the form of extra shares. ADRs can be liquidated and thus are no longer an issue.
If that's the case Falcon then I'll definitely be holding. That dividend would do nicely for buying other bargains that crop up.
Only way to avoid stupid comments is by not commenting at all. Sometimes we are wrong and that's just part of the long learning process called life.
I'm feeling 270p by end of the day but we'll see. Definitely feels like this stock is gonna keep moving up for the next few years.
