That's the second time I've seen Steve Goodacre criticising us, I put the first one down to getting the wrong end of the stick as it was a regulatory release rather than a scientific paper, but he seems adamant.

The guy has a whole alphabet of letters after his name and is a very relevant expert, so it's enough of a concern that I might send a quick email to consilium in the morning. If he's got it wrong he ought to be corrected.

It looks promising but the results are from in vitro testing - very early stage.

Not sure of the latest, I'm sure Gilead said they planned to test delivering Remdesivir by nebuliser, that caused some excitement here as it may well be a combination therapy becomes the ultimate standard of care.
It does make sense in theory to combine an immunomodulator (us) with an antiviral (remdesivir).
