Confidence in getting R down isn't the same as confidence in keeping it down, I think the hope for Christmas is that they can allow for a lockdown gap, with a considerable tradeoff cost in infections and lives.

I think everyone would like to see some TR1s and I imagine we'll probably see some TR1s in due course.
Venrock's activity is a bit of a puzzle, Polar's confidence is reassuring, it would be nice if Tikvah and Leonard added but not a game-changer. I'd guess we're looking at 2 or 3 new iis with stakes around 5% rather than a huge mystery player.

It's all getting complicated but Josh is right, the maths is simple.
It appears Venrock have reduced their stake slightly. They did sell a small amount a few weeks ago too. Could be any number of reasons why, but it doesn't look like Acacia or Lansdowne where they had to get out.

The 9.40 TR1 is for just VHCP III as an entity.
There is no reduction in holding, due to dilution it crosses the reporting threshold from 3.1% to 2.8%.
The 9.45 TR1 is for the partners as voting members in both VHCP funds. This covers their overall holding.
There is a reduction in holding from 8,835,000 shares to 7,655,000 shares. There is also dilution.
Combined these result in reduction of voting rights from 5.91% to 4.64%.

However... only the first tranche of the placing has been admitted to the market. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Venrock could have another 5 million shares on order in the second tranche at £1.75.

Either way we must have a lot of new interest in the placing. Fascinated to see which IIs have put £80m in our pot. Hopefully everything will be a lot clearer in a few weeks and some more TR1s.

They'll just ignore it. They can't deal with the cognitive dissonance, facts have no bearing. The man has no ethics/morals whatsoever, he views them as weakness.

With respect to any deeply held religious convictions, the pro-life lobby largely consists of folks who want something to be angry about without having to actually put any effort in. I have a pet theory that quite a lot of people are suffering from a degree of lead poisoning due to leaded petrol in the 60s/70s.

Unfortunately 'Ragz' is likely just outright lying about the phone call. Go through post history, not at all credible, likely a small time day trader. Hard not to get wound up by these folks, especially the more intelligent ones. Working out what to believe has been difficult lately, my biggest bugbear is that there is no evidence of government support whatsoever since Han**** promised it in July. Maybe there is a good reason, maybe it's being kept quiet, maybe they're corrupt, or maybe just utterly incompetent.

It seems to me that the scientists and medics are increasingly on board, the case has only got stronger. It's easy to forget that most people just don't know much about this.

On the whole I've been getting a bit too obsessive so I'm having a weekend off thinking about it. Once I get some sanity back I'm going to go back and review everything properly.

News could come at any time, but I did expect us to be further along by now and it's knocked my confidence a bit. Investment-wise I can wait, I normally invest on much longer timescales. Just very frustrating that we aren't out there saving lives yet. Clinigen is a route to start doing that - the sooner the better!
