Although nobody's explicitly said they're paid for, Richard said in July they expect to have millions (plural) of doses ready by the end of the year. They have a long lead time, so judging by today's news I think that's already taken care of.

Politicians are pushing vaccines because that's what people want to hear. It's the same reason why they're front page news. The public wants to hear about them and wants to talk about them.

Even if SNG001 was approved today, do we know if more than a few thousand doses would actually be ready to go tomorrow?

Maybe. But I'm hoping by the time this is ready, things will have improved and there will be other solutions for governments to focus on. I definitely wouldn't like to see them introduce mandatory testing or anything.

These are the kind of statements that make me wary. How are they going to be everywhere? Does that mean one every square mile of the UK (i.e. 150,000) and if so, how are they going to achieve that?

Are there going to be any obstacles when trying to persuade locations to become a testing hotspot and opening themselves to to increased infection rates and training staff to handle and dispose of infectious waste? Are they going to be free? If not, who's going to pay for them and how can you prevent buyers from charging for their use?

If this was Dragon's Den I'd go for it. But I'd be demanding 50% and still acting like an obnoxious prick. Frankly at this point I'm beginning to side with the virus.

You're right. But I should have said 'conclusive', and those are the ones they need. The RNS says they're about to commence.

At this point it seems like little more than a novel, interesting idea.

But if they get some encouraging test results, get some manufacturing arrangements in place and some large preorders lined-up, this morning's price will be easily surpassed. If they keep us informed in the meantime, even better.

But isn't it likely that virus-related deaths would be a lot higher if it wasn't for the 'massive overreaction'? Sorry to hear about your treatment being delayed. Any delay in treatment is unacceptable even in normal times, imho.

After looking at GB's comment it looks like he was talking about a room monitor that detects Covid pathogens in the air, not really a breathalyser. Sounds like a good idea.

I was under the impression it was nothing more than a rumour based on speculation. A "what if..?".

Because of the obvious drawback (i.e. spread of the disease) I think this company has better things to be focusing on, so I think it's unlikely the rumour is true. Maybe I'm wrong. We'll see.

If your aim is to increase the spread of the disease it's genius. Ditto if it's a joke.

A breathalyzer to detect a highly contagious disease doesn't sound like the best idea to me.

Half the companies I've been following have delayed their results because of Covid. As for the meeting, I don't know. But I doubt they have anything worth observing at the moment. I can't see what they would have to lose other than the effort and expense of setting up a webcast. So maybe it's that.

That's quite an assumption.

There will be three months left from the end of October. If they're having to negotiate with several parties to arrange the sale of Iclaprim and several others to complete the RTO, it's reasonable to think that talks could go on for some time.

Plus, with last week's announcement a number of other companies looking for a quick listing will have suddenly appeared.
