To justify a multi-billion pound valuation this virus will need to be prevalent for years and years. I don't think two months of infection-rate changes are enough to predict that.

Trials are still underway. Approval is still a long way off. The only ones who gain from hype and unrealistic expectations are market makers and day traders.

No, I'm just reminded of the Panorama hype back in May when most people on here thought that getting a mention on TV would send the share price to astronomical heights the next day. It didn't though.

They are two separate things.

But Hercules has the option to buy (what is currently) 25% of Motif Bio Plc. So in effect, they would have a stake in a decent chunk of anything in excess of the $7m debt. That's their incentive to sell at the highest possible price and not just recoup what they're owed. That's my understanding of it anyway.

I'd say £1bn = around 3x its value.

But in another 5 to 10 years and with many more phase trials it could reach £8bn if everything goes enitrely to plan.

We have no idea if that's the case or not. All we know is the IP hasn't sold yet. I believe the Hercules Capital warrants mean they get a portion (probably around 15%) of any sale price over the $7m they're owed.

What I got from the RNSs I've read is that we should see anything they get for it above the value of the Hercules Capital debt (of around $7m iirc). Why wouldn't that be the case?

Fear-of-missing-out is taking effect again, probably. If it gets conditional approval anywhere and profound effects are seen in that country's covid figures (as expected), other places will be queueing up to get it.

But it's clear he's only pushing for a vaccine because he stands to make money from it. Why else would a scientist want a vaccine in a pandemic?!

I saw EUA was suspended for five months from February and some comments on the EUA board were talking about an RTO, so I put 2 and 2 together and got 5. But you're right, it was never a cash shell and I don't know why it was suspended.
