I'm not sure about Polar specifically, but the British IIs tend to issue TR1s immediately.
Not only that, but everything in Friday's RNS would have been anticipated well in advance. The only 'bad' news was that the sample was too small to prove statistical significance, which we knew long before the results were in just by looking at the trial setup. So if an II wanted to offload some of their stake I think they would have done it gradually throughout the last week instead of triggering a steep drop.
No, I think it was PIs who expected the price to good through the roof at the next hint of good news. And when it didn't they panicked and sold up.
