No doesn’t rule out SPAC

Just checked back, at about 22mins CF clarifies that one of the non core assets (clearly his favourite) would IPO on AIM and Nasdaq and would be a dual listing next Easter, not one ipo then another...he isn’t as clear about the spin offs to be announced this month.

Looking at Renalytix the spin off went straight to ipo from EKF so unlike Trellus the shares from divi in specie were immediately listed (not sure about lock in requirement) - every arrangement could be different.

I agree Lovejoy, it’s very strange. The lunatics have taken over the asylum? To be honest I’d prefer to see incremental rises than exponential growth though, it then just becomes a traded stock and it’s not fun being a LTH riding a rollercoaster and then get stuck within a range. Have to trust that value will out over time.

My experience is with Trellus and EKF, as described. I unfortunately didn’t get EKF early enough for Renalytix but take a look through the rns’s for the two companies to get a feel for that, it’s the model CF aspires to, together with a masssive rise in SP not long after Nasdaq listing!

Once the shares from the divi in specie are yours, it makes no difference what you do with the associated OO shares. Taking Trellus, spun out of EKF last year as an example, these don’t appear yet in my pf because their IPO hasn’t yet happened. Some people’s brokers show them in a dealing account because they aren’t eligible for ISA but either way they won’t be tradeable until listing and it may be the case (as with Trellus) that there’s a lock in period as well. But OO shares are completely separate.

I’m pretty sure CF said last night that spin offs’ listings on AIM and Nasdaq would be simultaneous, no delay between them.

Once the divi in specie is issued the shares are yours, regardless of what you do with the OO shares that are associated with them. You can’t trade the shares in the spin off until they are actually listed, which might take some time (and there may also be a lock in period from listing date). So using Trellus, spin out from EKF last year, they still haven’t IPO’d and they done appear in my portfolio (for some people they apparently do appear in a dealing account) but AJBell have them waiting for listing to drop them in. Makes no difference if I sell all my EKF in the meantime.

Accounts would normally be due by end of April (4m after year end) and the company has referred to April for release, however the rules have been relaxed to allow an extra 2 months due to covid, so they could take that time and won’t get suspended for late publication.

That’s interesting rivaldo. I have called EKF the ‘silent assassin’ in my pf for some time as it seems so under the radar! Out of curiosity, what are the other 5 AIM stocks please?

Trytobuylow, on blood vs saliva, I don’t believe it is possible to test for antibodies using saliva, as far as I am aware, all antibody tests use blood.

Amers I think that you can’t hold it in ISA/SIPP, needs to just be in dealing account.

Think I might start writing pieces for ii, doesn’t look too tricky and no one can call you out for your forecasts!

Interesting to read EKF’s trading update and final results today. Incidentally it’s how I’d hope GM’s next update will read, but what’s interesting is that they have won a new multi £m contract to supply testing kits for staff covid testing for a private co worldwide - the contract is for an initial 2 years then on a rolling monthly basis. So additional confirmation that testing certainly isn’t going anywhere yet (and these kits are nothing to do with LFT’s).

I think it sounds like it might be us Bluelight, all antibody tests are likely to be fingerprick and we are designing ‘next gen’ LFT, presumably designed according to the specific requirements of AZ/DHSC and we have also said its for clinical research, like the radio did I think?

Kaeren my Spanish is sketchy but essentially it refers to Nova as a French co and says they announced the panel assay to identify the VOC in under 2hrs

And as I understand it, many overseas territories are sending samples to uk for sequencing as they don’t have the facilities. You can see how big a part the NCYT test could play.

According to a Scottish government page, around £55 so not a huge difference but obviously time and capacity are an issue with sequencing
