RE: Different this time?22 Jan 2026 15:45
Sharing and hope this info will be useful for some..
The 25,000-hectare license area sits on a scientifically proven foundation of deep drilling that dates back over 70 years.
- Total Drilling: Rio Tinto (1955–1959) and Geomin (1970–1972) combined for over 13,000 meters of diamond drilling.
- The 9.7M Tonne Resource: In 1972, Geomin estimated a resource of 9.7 million tonnes at 1.62% Cu. This was found in three distinct copper beds totaling 4.7m in thickness.
- The 6% Zinc "Hidden" Discovery: Diamond drill hole SB 20 (Rio Tinto) intersected a massive zone of 6.16% Zinc (Zn) over 9 meters (at 96m to 105m depth). This proves the area shares the same geological dolomite horizon as the world-famous Kabwe (Broken Hill) Mine.
Apparently all in the 25000 hectares Jubilee acquired and I guess the used this info and likely drill at the same places.
The main reason the project was abandoned in 1975 was the water level.
The Failure: Geomin tried to sink a prospecting shaft to reach the copper beds.
-The Depth: They only reached 37 meters before the shaft was flooded by the massive karstic (limestone) aquifer.
- The Result: Without modern high-capacity pumping or modular leaching tech, Geomin suspended the project in 1972 and abandoned it in 1975.
Modern technology can easily solve the water level (reminder Kabwe mine went to 850m deep and actually lowered the water levels) - interesting readings). The cost will be higher when mining below the water levels, but when high copper grades are found than... Of course the mapping of surface of above water level resources will be done and my guess much above 20m tonnes of copper. Of course an estimate). So Molefe/Project G / 25000 license area could provide sufficient copper for Sable for many years. Exiting times ahead and perhaps the finding will be a high grade copper at deeper levels. Modeling copper production is not that complicated with 2-2.5% and .7 % low grade (but according to me there should be at least x 3 - 30,000 tonnes concentrators. Interim ramp up of production is important but overall picture more important.

Roan - will the produce > 6,000 tonnes copper 2027. Likely more when front end unit is fully implented. Of course cost is higher than ROM from own mine (Molefe).Still not sure how they workout a targetted 1,000 tonnes per month for Roan.
LWP - Jubilee to receive management fee and royalty (that seems to be on and option considered by Jubilee - target a JV with many e.g 10 (could be more if we use 30,000 tpm concentrators or 3,6m tonnes per year - pending funding appetite by partners-. Roughly 20,000 tonnes of copper per annum.
---These profits can be used for decommissioned Mopani refinery to tackle cobalt and copper in the slag), etc.
I could be wrong, but Jubilee has a bright future ahead.
