Spot on, Meoryou, and there is the dilemma! Will BP simply keep falling now (and my target companies getting dearer) or will the ceasefore collapse, BP go up again and the target companies fall in value?

I have about five thousand BP plc shares remarking in my SIPP, with an average weighted purchase cost of about 460p.

The question is should I flog them at the current price, making a £5,000 tax free profit? Or should I wait, as I expect things to get worse before they get better in the Gulf region? If I wait, and things get better politically, then the price of BP shares will fall, and pretty heavily, probably.

One issue is that if I were to sell, my target companies have seen share prices go up significantly today, so I have no obvious place to invest any sales proceeds.

The last point would indicate that Israel has breached the terms, and the USA is wrong to believe what it states about the Lebanon.

Israel said that Lebanon is a separate thing, not in the ceasefire terms. The UAA agrees. However, Iran does not want to throw its proxies under the proverbial bus.

Looks to me that this could all kick off again sooner than even I feared.

Yes, this is merely a ceasefire, not a peace accord. If either side holds out with maximalist desires, then it will all collapse.

According to -Business Today' on the BBC News Channel (11:30 BST edition), President Trump is now claiming that he wants to charge a toll fee for going through the Strait of Hormuz! Did he not say some days ago that he was going to leave the Strait to those that were reliant on it?

With Trump, if you do not like one of his plans, no worries...just wait a while and another one will appear.

No wonder that he has the TACO tag!

I thought that we were going to open at 600p, but we got there in the end.

Johnson was a great populist, which is how he won an 80 seat overall majority. Unfortunately, in times of rising prosperity, he would have been a fantastic PM. Unfortunately, due to Covid-19, we needed a mire authoritarian leader, one who was nit afraid to make very tough decisions, something that a populist found impossible.

According to the BBC News Channel, the US newspaper is reporting that the Iranian Government has cut off "direct" diplomatic channels and negotiations.

I am confused! I did nit think that the Iranians were negotiating...

Anyway, will this bring us closer to hitting 600 pence per share for BP today?

Perhaps it was already baked into the share price? I doubt that. Perhaps the market sees that it changes nothing much? More likely. Or maybe that the market is holding its breath for news and analysis of the scale of the attacks. Maybe.

On what basis? Whilst he is erratic and eccentric, he is still compos mentis. He seems to have shed a load of weight, so has probably postponed a stroke or a heart attack. I just cannotnsee the basis for removal, other than his opponents do not like his policies, though that is what people voted for...
