You truly were very fortunate if you managed to buy your first house without a mortgage via the bank of mum and dad. I bought my house in May 1988 on a 100% mortgage from Bank of Scotland. With interest rates in the eighties and nineties, and early 2000's before 2008 I really did struggle with my mortgage payments at times, but D-Day for me was in June 2013 when I finally became mortgage free. Icing on the cake for me now will be getting a steady and progressive dividend income stream to live of until I am entitled to state pension and small work pension in November 2025.

I'm not getting to excited about today's rise, this share has form for kicking investors in the charlie ollicks and reversing the mornings gains and end up down at close of market! If we can string along a couple of weeks or more trending up then I will get excited!

Well there we go; FTSE has held onto todays gains even though the DOW has had a little wobbler but is still up, but Lloyds dives! Pathetic!

Any wobbles on Wall Street this afternoon and the SP is sub 43p!

Since you posted Lloyds has slipped back to up 0.34%! This really is the "Cinderella" of the UK banks! LOL

Well the FTSE has rebounded recovering all of yesterdays loss. Lloyds was down -4.2% yesterday, up today +0.63%, I would not call that a rebound! None of the financial stocks have recovered anywhere near what they lost yesterday!

Typical with this share, the FTSE has recovered half of todays loss but the banks stay down?

Well that's more than half of last weeks gains gone in first 50 minutes of the new trading week!

FTSE Futures down -1.4%, take cover!

Large volume traded yesterday, 385.4 million shares traded, so volume ticking up; maybe the start of some of the big Institutional Investors starting to buy in? Interesting to see where we open on Monday; although the DOW had another fall yesterday -0.5%, LYG finished up again +0.4% so seems to be a bit of momentum picking up for Lloyds both sides of the Atlantic?

But the Goldman Sachs target price is still 45p, that has not changed has it? There are several other broker forecasts 3 weeks or older that have target price between 50 and 65p, but where is the SP? Hovering around 45p. Why is that? SP always seems to be closer to the lowest broker target price than the higher ones IMO. I think current SP supports my opinion.

Maybe the most fancied amongst UK banks, but while Goldman Sachs has a target price of 45p I think this will hold the SP down at current levels. IMHO

Considering DOW is currently down -180pts the SP is holding on to todays gains very well for a change!

There was no final dividend 2019 paid, and no interim dividend 2020 paid.

Lloyds paid a final dividend for 2020 of 0.57p. Pay out for that was 410.4 million. Paid an interim dividend for 2021 of 0.67p, pay out for that was 482.4 million. Total pay out both dividends 892.8 million pounds.

I would say looking good for 45p + by close of market Friday!
