In the recent announcement re no restrictions pre christmas, it appears pretty obvious to me that restrictions / lockdown are coming after christmas, whether from boxing day onwards or New Year...

Whilst we all assume there's unprecedented business taking place behind the scenes that we are not privy to as of yet all the while we get no news there is a chance that what's going on behind the scenes is less exciting and manic than we think - I will continue to hold and possibly buy on SP weakness as it's hard to see this period being anything other than fruitful but if we get nothing until full year results it's going to feel like a helluva wait!

As for this share I have a feeling that those like me that held off buying in today at 83/84p might have missed the bottom - was very greedy waiting for lower with BTC still at a respectable $46k...

I genuinely do ArgoBull! He is the sort of person who gets caught up in the hype *weeks* after a share has taken off. He tends to catch the second wind/pullback, sees his investment jump quickly 10 or so percent and that along with his "research" convinces him that it's a nailed on winner.

I just hope for his sake he's messing around with pocket money rather than a big inherited windfall!

I spent twenty or so mins going over the shares he's invested in, his entries and exits and I can say with some certainty that Tiger has been telling the truth all along about having a 100% record...

100% loss making.

That's the conundrum right now - the less greedy and more patient will buy in now and wait for the next upturn whether that be soon or after a bear market to see their solid returns. There is also the possibility of share price implosion however if BTC really does sink and those lucky enough to catch that bottom have the chance to multibag.

Sure but book value is how the metric is determined, otherwise investors in many companies would come up with their own calculations and estimates as to why the share is trading below NAV.

Is this a good investment? I'm on the sidelines as bitcoin looks bearish to me but I'm on the sidelines here more than i'm in so it's not much to go by! Is there value at this price? Medium term without a doubt... If/when bitcoin hits new ATHs what with Texas kitted out the share price will be considerably higher than it is today that's for sure.

It's problematic to pick and choose which experts to follow. I listen to Heneghan as well as listening to the other side of the spectrum in John Ashton (see poidster's post/tweet yesterday).

It's still way too early to compare the two. David was never going to join the company and immediately just turn the news tap on full blast, he hasn't been brought in to shore up the share price short term, he's not a premier league manager rushed in to save the club from relegation.

Surely got to give him four or five months before assuming we know his style of management.

What we kept saying is we won't be valued at a decent p/e from covid revenue alone, which is still true. But, we are now in a position where it's more than possible that we see upwards of £30m profit in 2022 solely from covid (p/e of 8 or lower) and even the biggest sceptics must agree that we will be branching out into new avenues next year...

There is always a strong negative correlation between novacyt and the FTSE in recent times - FTSE 100 and 250 both down big this morning so you would expect a strong day for us.

Nothing's guaranteed though!

It's strange that anyone was betting against this over the past few weeks, the situation we're in now was inevitable.

That's hardly a revelatory statement calimari - all miners are correlated to expected future commodity prices - as there is a bearishness pervading crypto and bitcoin right now bitcoin miners are suffering.

In order to get the public on their side it appears the government are waiting til the virus is out of control and other nations are already in lockdown before entering into one ourselves - this is the total opposite of leadership.

The vaccines are highly effective against severe illness and death but they aren't 100% so there will be the odd terribly sad case like this.

To be honest DRB you're getting a bit boring now too and making this drag on longer than it needs to - some on here believe in vaccine mandates and some don't, there are strong arguments on both sides. Why start another thread on this topic?
