I'm starting to wonder if the time to buy more might be AFTER the results. I can see it now, decent results but no guidance and no strategic plan and a big sell off only for news to start filtering through a few weeks later when the share price has bottomed.

The best time to buy is always when people are at their wits end.

I don't know but he's not exactly going to share it two weeks before the full year results is he? Other companies like sourcebio and yourgene have started revealing plans alongside their trading updates so why won't we see the same?

It seems an apt time to take the reins proper.

At £190m i'm quite happy to risk a bit more money here and have a top up - after all it would take some mismanagement to fail to grow the company beyond this level with half of that sitting in the bank.

You think he should resign before he's even communicated his plan to grow the company? This isn't a premier league football club, this is a company in rude health preparing for the next stage in its development.

He should go if he fails to grow the company over the next 12-18 months, not before that process has even started.

When I used to follow the bitcoin commentators more closely one metric they often looked at to gauge the environment was what miners were doing - the more HODLing the better. Now I am noticing many miners switch to a model of using HODL to fund rigs and operations... surely this is going to see thousands, maybe tens of thousands of coins hit the market and therefore quite bearish?

I bought a small amount just above 80p yes. The hope is to be able to build a holding below that but we'll see.

I am teasing you K3, 82p will probably look very cheap in time but whilst the share price has settled here and BTC looks weak there does seem a decent chance of it going lower.

I agree @fara but equally one could say that a CEOs time horizon for getting something done is not a few months... especially if hitting realistic productions targets is part of the plan to bolster shareholder trust.

We are close to the trading update, do you really think he's going to throw a load of news at us before this? I certainly hope not and would prefer the results to mark the start of a new era for novacyt.

Looking at all metrics there is little doubt the risks to this investment are largely baked in at this price. Sure testing almost certainly will decline but we are selling worldwide and should have the ability to continue to earn from the different waves in different countries at different times. I lean towards the half glass full camp that believes we've probably seen the worst of covid now but would it surprise me if it comes back with a vengeance each winter with restrictions and testing returning? Not at all.

For 2021, assuming guidance is met and cash comes in at £100m we are looking at an EV/EBITDA of 3, where below 10 is generally considered very healthy. There is a wider margin of safety here for this investment. We do not have high CAPEX costs, this is a high margin business in a sector that is growing rapidly.

The lack of news and commentary from the company leaves the door open to speculation that perhaps all is not well behind the scenes. If in fact it turns out the silence is simply the board not busying themselves with the day to day share price and instead focusing all effort and attention on driving the company forward then we'll all be heavily rewarded for buying shares down at this depressed level.

None of us know for sure but the risk/reward at this price is off the scale and I for one am happy to bet on all things being well and BMN's crumby caterpillar transforming into a beautiful butterfly.

It it possible looking back that a rise of over 10000% in just 10 months might mean that the share price got a little ahead of itself?!

It's going to be interesting to see what sort of revenue the company believe they will continue to derive from covid in the years to come... after all if testing continues with each, say, six monthly wave, and if contracts are still in place globally then it's possible that revenue could be as high as £40-£50m for the foreseeable (~£18m profit), in a sense justifying the current market cap from covid revenues alone...
