Really DRB is speaking as a trader re variants - after a lull there will almost certainly be a scare around a new variant and traders will pile into novacyt temporarily and all those buying shed loads down here at £1.90 a share will take their 40/60/80 percent profit.

Okay thank you. There are specific reasons why a biotech might trade below cash - example small pharma raises £50m for phase 2 trial, trial quickly halted due to poor early results, the business' only viable commercial asset now virtually worthless.

I concede that you are indeed correct many companies trade below cash but I'd hazard a guess they are nearly all under those circumstances, not cash that they have actually made themselves.

I can't access that page, can you just list a couple of companies trading below net cash, i'd like to see if I can understand why they are...

I've seen coal producers trade close to that for obvious reasons.

This isn't my view BYP, this is yours... I don't think anyone's views should be discounted personally, i'm asking that you be treated the way you treat others.

@BYP would you care to name a couple of said companies that trade below cash? Of course assuming they don't have debt that offsets that... which companies trade below net cash, i'm interested as I'll probably look to invest.

No offence @BYP but you have stated that you are now trading this share going forward so, in line with what you would say about anyone trading it, your views can be discounted.

I also don't agree with you. Period on period revenue growth is nearly always behind the exponential rises on AIM. Obviously novacyt can't do that but less than expected revenue is still a downer.

As I said it's what traders use, they don't care about the long term fundamentals... but this price action is just amazing to observe.

Soder on AIM revenue is the big figure that traders get excited about...

Obviously in the end it doesn't keep the lights on but it's what sentiment is based around.

Whilst many of us did think revenue would be higher nobody sensible thought £150m Sp28. £110m at an absolute maximum whilst I hoped for £105m.

Immaterial in the grand scheme of things and cash still what I was hoping for (which in reality is what matters).

There's two ways to look at this - those who are sitting on very high averages complaining day after day about this not being £10 are not going to be too happy., the update isn't sexy and isn't likely to bring bags of sentiment back here anytime soon, there isn't going to be a massive race to get in this morning... I'm not even sure if we're going to see a rise today.

On the other hand... f***** hell the fundamentals are strong for a company valued where it is today, ludicrous in fact.

I think we're all going to be a bit disappointed in the circumstances that revenue came in at £95.8m but the rest is very positive.

Your backward looking posts offer nothing and are merely used to wind up those underwater. What one has to ask themselves is, today, the 24th Jan 2022, should I put my money/keep my money in BMN @ 9p or do I see better returns elsewhere?

I see BMN being punished for missed targets in the past, for a lack of communication at times when the SP was in need of support, for the slower than expected adoption of VRFBs etc. I also think they are being excessively punished and are capable of learning from past mistakes and this has presented me with an exceptional opportunity to build a big holding at a depressed price.

For me BMN is one of the best risk/rewards out there currently.

I'd say we were closer to midnight on the doomsday clock in 1962 with the Cuban Missile Crisis.

Despite directors having far more insight than everyday investors and even institutions into the likelihood of success of a company, big director purchases on AIM are actually relatively rare.

I'm not sure why it is but even in companies that multibag 10 times I don't often see the directors loading up beforehand.

60p vs $33k is incredible value, no doubt about it... clearly further falls in BTC are being priced in though.
