Everybody who holds currently will be hoping for the share price to go up, isn't that normal? I buy when I think the share price is undervalued and I support my investment, that to me is sensible. If I think the share price has got a little overheated I will reduce or possibly even sell out but I don't then come on here willing it back down like you seem to be doing. If nothing else you are relishing the drama of it all today.

Nothing is a given obviously and we don't know the exact reason for the £102m in cash but to be honest it doesn't matter all that much to me, I'm not too worried if it turns out David's great aunt left £30m in her will to the company, the fact remains that they are sitting on an enormous cash pile , higher than many on here expected, which they will deploy over time and which guarantees the solvency and lack of need for financing for years to come, reducing risk significantly at this price.

If that is the case re Omicron revs all in 2022 then it will almost certainly guarantee fairly healthy looking revenues for 22 whilst the company transitions to a post covid focus.

Soder there are many biotechs trading below 'cash' as scenarios play out such as company X raises £50m for phase 2/3 trial only for it to fail or be halted early, rendering the only asset they have virtually worthless whilst still having say £25m cash at their disposal.

Newbee the reason Soder abused you is because there is a big difference between someone sticking their finger in the air and saying 'no way is this going below £2/£3/£5 or whatever and another saying a profitable company with modest outgoings is simply not going below net cash level. If you can't see the difference then that's up to you.

And I highly doubt 'most' biotechs trade below cash, I suspect it's a tiny fraction out of the tens of thousands of listed biotechs around the world.

I assume you're not talking about novacyt burning cash unless you think another £25m cash added to the pile in the past six months is 'burning cash?'

Exactly Big, the cash pile allows the company to grow the company at their pace and on their terms, without the constraints of the market, lenders, etc - to know there is zero chance of suddenly being diluted at a discount is a rare thing on AIM.

Well you can at least be rest assured that he isn't going to go gung ho all guns blazing and squander the cash in one fell swoop, it seems he is wants to build the company out in a more conservative, gradual and careful fashion.

Let's not forget we've had weeks of nefarious actors on here casting light over the cash position and suggesting it's far more likely to be about £75m due to all the extra costs and r&d incurred this year - they were all proved to be very wrong on this point.

Lewis I would say because they don't need to aggressively target growth, they have the cash to grow the company to say a half bil business organically and with smart bolt on acquisitions... after all most £0.5b diagnostics are making ~£25m profit per year.

I really don't get how you can criticise me for arguing that I think the share price will be higher than 1.94 soon (giving no numbers or making any exaggerated claims) whilst you repeatedly quote mid 1s as where the share price is going.

I make it much clearer that mine are merely personal predictions whilst you talk in definitive language about yours.

I'm not pretending this is the best thing since sliced bread, i'm not pretending success is a guarantee, I've admitted today to massively increasing my exposure in the hope of making the most of what is an exaggeratedly low share price and at least claw back some of my recent losses...

I don't see what's wrong with trading a little as long as one is transparent about it.

And no I'm not a LTH with all these shares, I'm not risking my long term future solely on the success of novacyt but I am happy to bet that the shares will be trading higher than 194p at some point in the next few weeks.

Communication without doubt needs to change however to see sustainable rises.

You could argue that. I've taken a big risk at 194p partly for that reason, partly in the hope that now this is out the way DA takes the reins proper and starts exciting the market with regularly communication. If I can make a profit on a spike, fine, if the latter happens and IIs starting buying and the share price has the support to rise and kick on then I don't need to trade these new shares bought and instead can hold longer term for bigger profit.
