Hexam, we all appreciate this breakdown of the current all in costs but would you be happy to put out your 'best estimate' for how things will be looking in October, perhaps leaning towards the more conservative end to account for the risks of execution?

Helios Phase 1 will be live in the not too distant future so focusing on today's costs when this is what Argo have been building up to for a long time now is less meaningful for an investor looking further than the end of their nose.

The *only* reason is that things can still go wrong, no further bids could come and the share price could start to retrace again - people were saying the same about Twitter last week, why would anyone sell below $54.20? Well it's $37.29 currently.

Some of this I agree with, some I don't. In at least the short to medium term BTC going as low as you're describing is v unlikely, there are millions HODLing who are still not budging even as the nasdaq looked to be crumbling earlier this week (has recovered a bit since). Luna looked like it could bring down the whole crypto ecosystem and the nasdaq falling 5% was another huge test but to be sitting above $30k following both those events is quite impressive.

My thesis is in the very near term, $40k is more likely than $25k now.

Shorts need to get out don't they? Sure their friends will make it as pain free as possible!

I take back my comments, I'm just tired and a bit relieved by this news having wanted out... I imagine this gets pumped well above 170p tomorrow and has a shot at an intra day high above 200p.

Took some in February at 124p a week or so after the first buy out rumours and have sat on it since.

It's not been a comfortable hold for me I must add, sure many others will be looking for more than that.

Who knows but my guess is £1.60, will take my profit and exit happily around that level I think.

Isn't this just the shortfall between the NYDIG financing and the rest that's needed to kit out Helios Phase 1? Some of that shortfall is going to be through selling BTC but of course if BTC went very low I imagine they'd attempt to hold off selling and completing the last of the financing until bitcoin rose to a level they were happy selling at...

22k shares for me before close - short term horizon for now but looking strong for a BTC bounce from here !

From their recent comments and the way the buying suddenly stopped my guess would be that for now they are sticking with what they have rather than planning some sort of hostile takeover.

Didn't you open your short at $5.91? Nasdaq almost 5% down yet arbk still holding up at $6.31... Bitcoin might cash but so far looking inauspicious for you.

My word the nasdaq is really imploding today - considering, BTC has held pretty firm up until now it's got to be said.

But if you're worried about every miner at that price doesn't that realistically suggest that much of the planned mining expansion won't be able to take place & many machines will be turned off, leading to a decrease in difficulty rather than an increase? I'm even less evangelical than you about BTC but I'm confident it has at the very least one more bull cycle (beyond that no idea whether it hits $250k or something supersedes it) which given the perfect storm of factors again like early 2021 could see Argo multibag...

For a while I've been imagining a scenario that involves a crypto winter til about mid 2023 where difficulty has pulled back a little and Argo is mining ~600 coins a month, however seeing a lot of your workings out recently I'm obviously acutely aware now that even if it did play out that way Argo would likely need to sell a large proportion of that to cover their costs...

That's an exaggeration to be honest, I don't think BTC will go quite that low and I think Argo's upside potential will keep it from dropping that far also but I just wondered hypothetically speaking in that sort of scenario whether you'd start worrying about the threats to argo rather than the asymmetric upside potential? Have you got a plan for that sort of eventuality as that's what my dry powder is sitting there for...
