Kindergarten squabbles7 Dec 2020 14:09
I first bought in to UFO at a mkt.cap. of just £2m and I still see much potential for long term growth. Though I rarely posted comments here, I would read this board for insightful discussion and research. However, it is increasingly descending to personal attacks and kindergarten squabbling.
So, whilst there is no reason that anyone should care about my views, might I remind people of the obvious!
1) No sensible investor buys or sells shares in any company based solely on the opinion of a stranger on the internet. If someone doesn't quickly learn to do their own research and take responsibility for their own actions they will soon lose whatever wealth they had to invest.
2) In Consequence it may be delusional to assume that overzealous preaching directly influences the behaviour of enough wealthy investors and traders as to actually drive any share price either up or down. Not that this stops price movements from being implausibly attributed to vociferous "ramping" or "de-ramping".
3) AIM exists specifically for smaller companies to raise the funds to grow. Frequent placements and share dilution are therefore par for the course. If you can't handle the inherent price volatility or don't trust a company's management then you shouldn't speculate in such shares.
4) Countless studies show that the majority of private investors lose money momentum trading in and out of stocks. Only a minority predict the peaks and troughs well enough to outperform long term value investors.
5) Nobody adds to their own credibility with inarticulate rants, juvenile insults, petty accusations and endless complaining, Simply learn from your mistakes if you have let other people's opinions negatively influence your own judgement.
I don't know if it speaks to a lack of maturity, education and attention span among the majority of posters here now, but it seems as if most can't even be bothered to read what they themselves have written . The inarticulate and illiterate vitriol makes the content of several posts difficult to comprehend on first reading. Worse still if you go back to decipher your way through the atrocious use of English many posts aren't actually making any point about the company at all, they are merely bolstering their own delicate egos by trying to belittle others.
So here's a thought for those here that want to be taken seriously, rise above the pettiness and try writing something that is insightful, polite and intelligently expressed. Then, most importantly, read what you have written. It is quite possible to debate conflicting opinions in a respectful manner, but if what you have written makes you seem like an uneducated eight year old bully throwing a tantrum then simply keep your comments to yourself.
For the few people here who continue to post remarks worth reading - thank you. Most of what I know about this company I've learnt through trying to corroborate the dwindling number of facts shared here.
