I'd previously said that lot of "good news" had been anticipated, talked about and priced in for a good while, and as such I didn't expect a major move in SP when any of this "expected" news was finally released.

Increasingly as the SP has dropped back again and sentiment wains during these delays I am watching this expected news get priced out of the current price as if people no longer believe it is coming.

If there is a positive to this it means the current SP far more accurately reflects the actual state of the company today with no allowance for future potential, but that does leave a lot more scope for the price to go up if we do eventually get the good news many are expecting.

as for moving up the ramping leader board ... such is the way I think, when it was a hot topic of conversation the other day, I tried a few experiments in terms of my own posts to see what did or didn't move you up or down the rankings.

I made the biggest move up on a totally tangential post about the the etymology of a an early word for a rabbits tail (nothing to do with shares, investing or UFO at all) and I made the second biggest move up in a period when I posted nothing at all , so I could only have moved on the basis of others being dropped down the list. I think we all knew it was a largely nonsensical list anyway but it can be a bit of silly fun deliberately trying to make sense of what the artificial intelligence (stupidity?) is actually ranking us all on.

As for reasons for investing in UFO I share the belief that the global macro-economic situation is becoming unsustainable, and that whilst the powers that be will keep kicking the can down the road longer than most think possible, we must be getting closer to the end game where prices become meaningless if measured against near infinite amounts of fiat currency, and where people panic into a defensive position of wanting/owning anything real they can hold in their hands rather than paper certificates related to real stuff. I wouldn't want to be in any equities at the time we actually reach that point, but I think in the mean times equities representing companies dealing in commodities are likely to see a huge bull market even if the wider markets go down.

well it comes to something when you approach the end of the week and look at the SP and think Phew we're likely to finish less than 10% down for the week. .. be thankful for small mercies as they say,!

I'm sure in the long run the last few days price movements will prove irrelevant and be forgotten, but such drops do test your faith and commitment.

well we've had an abnormally high volume of small trades got through compared to a notable lack of larger trades ... perhaps the "large" trades are too large to show up immediately and will go show up after hours... I won't predict whether they will be buys or sells as there is no certainty there actually will be large trades, but its as a good a guess as any f to explain the price monitoring extensions.

I think the oddest thing reading the comments here is that you could swap them in or out of almost any bulletin board of any junior miner and nobody would notice they were talking about a different company.

Across the sector there are delays and sentiment is down, and hence prices drift slowly down with sentiment. Yet the prospects and fundamentals of all these companies remain exactly the same as six months ago when the world and his dog wanted to invest in junior miners/explorers... only the share prices have changed.

If you are a short term momentum trader you'll have moved on to chase the next quick buck, long term investors who bought because they believed in their research into the company and the wider macro-economic factors just sigh and put their feet up awaiting for sentiment to return.

When the only thing different about a company is that the SP is significantly lower than a few months earlier when demand was high, that surely makes them a better investment than a few months previous rather than a worse one.

remember it also moved down to 0.8 on almost no volume, until there is some real news to drive some decent trading volumes the current SP is a largely meaningless indicator and we only have our own gut feelings about where this "could" go.

I'm very bullish long term, even medium term, but would say "all bets are off" over the next few days as even a modest trade can push the SP around like a paper tissue in a hurricane.

My reading of the RNS is both pretty poor in terms of actual numbers, certainly nothing to get excited about, but at the same time , first drill holes rarely give great results -

think of it as opening a new novel and finding the inside of the dust cover is blank and the first page only has an ISBN number printed on it... so what... it tells you nothing about the quality of writing once you get into the meat of the novel... if we get twenty pages in and there's still no meaningful text on any of the pages then we have problems.

I have a tiny holding here as a speculative punt because things have the potential to get interesting, but this is a high risk high reward sector where TYM is a long way from getting far enough forward to have in anyway "de-risked".

I'm probably no less guilty of the following than anybody else, but it does seem as if there is simply a lot of impatient, nervous chatter on this board for the sake of saying something, rather than actually having anything new and meaningful to say.

It is logical to assume that most people posting here are actually investors in UFO, people who see future potential, and who will therefore be more likely to have a positive bias in what they say. One or two folk have a negative bias ... this doesn't mean they aren't entitled to their opinions or that they have to be wrong, but it could lead you to ask why they are spending time on this bulletin board if they don't seem convinced the company is worth investing in. Either way we would be all well advised to recognise bulletin boards aren't the best sources of unbiased opinions.

Truth is we are all awaiting some sort of new news or facts on which to review our own opinions, and in the mean time doing little more than "kicking tyres". Something essentially detrimental to the share price in the real short term, but which has no bearing on the longer term prospects of the company regardless of whether you view those as good or bad.

What we can state as absolute fact is that if you think the company is worth investing in then current prices below 1p are a far better buy in than when prices were above 2p not so long ago.

EWT98 - I don't want to be seen to be disparaging about something , especially something I don't claim to understand much of and should probably learn more about , but I am always curious about those folk that are clearly interested in technical analysis.

Do you believe there really is some sort of under-lying psychology that leads to a herd like behaviour around certain key triggers , or is it more that you believe enough others give credit to this for it to become a self fulfilling prophecy, especially when more and more trading is done by software programmed to respond to these triggers?

I ask as there is a curious psychological phenomena that when people start believing something to be a significant trigger they anticipate it , react in advance of the actual trigger and in effect generate a new trigger that leads to responses before the thing previously thought to be the trigger.

Given my scientific background I should probably at least look further into technical analysis but always figured irrational sentiment is a bigger driver of prices than hard data.

At the time of writing across the UK commodities and raw materials equities there are five times more companies in the red today as in profit, and the median loss is over 3% whilst the median gain among the few in profit is just over 1%.

Put in context it is true UFO is having another bad day, but so are most other shares in similar fields and much as no one is happy to be losing money (or at least making paper loses as we don't actually have to sell at a low price) it seems logical to conclude we are primarily down just because we are caught in a sector wide drop in sentiment and have no news yet to fight this.

Fud can mean many things to many people as the English language is a complex and varied one noted for is extensive and in many cases archaic vocabulary... I thought I'd stick with the more plausible and polite option...

though in etymological terms I think your Glasgow slang derives from an earlier term for a rabbits/hares tail, though I may be wrong if it may have other origins in a regional dialect.

"fear uncertainty and doubt" is the most common use of the abbreviation that may be plausible but I won't claim for certain that's what others actually mean by it

BB I know exactly where you are coming from... first instinct in a sea of red is to assume the worst and consider selling, then it's to ask if you should be throwing everything you've got excellent opportunities across the board.

perhaps the most sensible is simply to say "Aim is crazy at times" and that until it settles down it would be crazy to try and make a rational decision.

The long term prospects are good, the short term prospects could be anything at times like this... I'm just watching from the sidelines and neither selling nor buying.

@yayay if you are in SGZ you may (or may not?) appreciate the recommendation to go mow the lawn, though I suspect such a comment will probably confuse everybody here reading it.

nevertheless like you I to showed patience and watched SGZ price rise to more than double what I paid only to fall back to break even, but I have every hope that things will tick up nicely over the coming months once production actually becomes proper production.

well it's little consolation to you yayay but UFO was one where I got my timing very right and saw a 30 bagger in my first few months owning UFO, the education has been watching it come back down the other side.

Fortunately I am still showing a paper profit in UFO , but the drop in value of that paper profit since October has been well over a year's wages for me, heck at the current price lets call that two years wages... so this has been an expensive education in the value of top-slicing however much you rate the long term prospects of a company. ... still I mustn't grumble too much as I'm still in multi-bags territory with UFO which is far better than many.

First time ever that I recall seeing every equity in my portfolio simultaneously all showing red for the day ...

even on bad days there's usually something that is at least managing to to do nothing and stand still.

On the plus side, over the year the bottom line is still green and it is simply showing less paper profit as a consequence of today's moves, rather than an actual paper loss.

If I were stronger I'd resist looking at daily price movements as they really shouldn't impact upon a long term investment strategy, and when everything including UFO is down it does imply it is not a problem specific to UFO.

It is true that the price is down but on trading volumes that are a fraction of what buys/sells at times of news and activity.

It is just boredom/frustration/impatience with a lack of activity that is leading the price to dribble slowly down, I'd be more worried if the price were heading down like this at times of high volume trading as that would more clearly signify something fundamentally wrong and a mass exodus.

just look at the wider picture across the junior mining sector, UFO is down a lot but so are most in the sector, I wouldn't take the drop as too reflective on UFO itself, nor assume that any drop is a permanent long term reflection on the prospects of any particular junior miner/explorer... the markets are fickle and people are looking elsewhere for a quick buck.

Max I was just about to post a similar thought that I wouldn't place too much value on such a list as there are several names there that don't seem to have posted anything in ages, plus without any explanation of the underlying Artificial Intelligence algorithms who knows what it is doing to compile the list...

it's little more than amusing click-bait.

As will ever be the case folk should do their own research and take responsibility for their own actions, acting on anything a stranger says on the internet is never wise!
