I don't know where/how things would stand for you legally if taking it upon yourself to represent another without their consent?

MrP - I think at times AIM is too forward looking and sentiment driven for its own good, that's what leads to price drops when news doesn't arrive quickly enough to support all that forward looking sentiment that created the sudden and unexpected moves that came from nowhere.

After the last big drop from 3p there is a sense that some positive sentiment is returning to UFO at the moment, however I'd prefer it if hard facts drove the sentiment, rather than the sentiment pre-empting actual supportive facts.

macro economic factors are clearly supportive of stocks like UFO in the longer term, but as I've said before, whilst others are predicting action here much sooner, I'm still expecting it to be the second half of the year before we see any real activity with UFO, and even then it may not be the instant fireworks some expect.

However we all know what one good bit of news "could" do for the SP and there is the potential for many bits of good news to drop in the coming months. Equally until any news does arrive it would be reckless to count on it being good enough to support rising sentiment.

@eatstocks - UFO is a company with excellent long term prospects which many believe in (myself included). Many of those excellent prospect may even be delivered in a more medium time frame. However as might be expected with a volatile AIM listed share, prices can move much more on sentiment than actual facts.

Whilst I might not be one to willfully rain on other people's parade, if I may extend the metaphor I am one to advocate the usefulness of carrying an umbrella: - that is to say there are some here who do get very carried way with the narrative, resulting in good performance still being perceived as disappointingly below expectations leading to erratic spikes and drops in SP that the facts do not support.

There is much here to be optimistic about in terms of potential ifs, buts and maybes, but you should always do your own research, invest on fact and under the current circumstances allow for and expect news/facts to arrive later than many here hope for.

However if you are looking for a junior minerals explorer with a diverse portfolio of projects to move up the value curve then I'd argue there is no better on AIM.

sentiment is a fickle thing and the advent of the digital age has greatly reduced the attention span of most investors... I'm sure if we all just wait and come back in a few months the topics of discussion will be completely different.

ECR has a lot of potential, the cash to explore that potential over many, many months to come and a CEO with good reason to try and boost investor sentiment and trust... one good set of drill results and we'll all be singing a different tune.

It's perfectly normal, though far from pleasant, for juniors to experience routine 30% pull backs en-route to success and pullbacks over 50% are not that rare.

This probably isn't the sector be in if expecting a smooth safe ride.

Eck71 - cheers - I noticed it a bit with one of my other holdings for a day or two, then it eased up, today SGZ is the one getting hit with all the micro trades.

No major worry but clearly some irregular problem somewhere it is just curious as to how the problem moves around.

@silverhorse - not strictly true but the only we way we want to go is up, however the market doesn't have to deliver what we want.

I've no doubts long term ,but short term I'll just hold onto the shares I've got and watch what happens.

What's with the abnormally high number of trades going through for pitifully low numbers of shares that could be paid for with pocket money?

@Damodubya - all you've really missed is a lot of bickering, wailing and name calling, so until news actually arrives it's probably safe to switch off again.... unless you are actually interested in the psychology in which case you could draw interesting parallels with a chimpanzee colony! ... I've always preferred orangutans much more chilled and thoughtful.

well a little excitement in the daily SP , but let us remember how often it can and has jumped up on modest volume only to dip again.

As and when news with hard data arrives we'll be able to assess what sort of "new" SP seem reasonable. Until then we're trading on sentiment, although there's nothing unusual about that on AIM, and with much news delayed and due asap then sentiment will presumably grow until that hard data is released to either support that sentiment, or bring folks back down to earth with a bump.

a nicely ambiguous and loosely subjective term which beautifully covers the uncertainty we face over timings and delays, we can however be sure the results are closer now than they were some time ago.

@ Max - that's a generous assessment of value, these were issued at 0.25p so we've only added about £10 to the company bank account with this issue of equity. ;-)

@ smiller I always feel too much emphasis is placed upon timings with exclusivity agreements - we may get an announcement about the tailings soon we may not?

Generally I reckon on the fact prompt announcements are more common when both sides have failed to reach an agreement and both sides recognise this. Otherwise if talks are still on going, or an agreement has been reached there will probably be a period of legalities and paperwork to sort before we are told anything.

Of course I don't actually know what's going on behind the scenes, I'll just have to wait and see like everybody else.

I don't filter anybody as I always like to hear contrarian views that challenge my own. I readily admit there are some folk here whose opinions I deem worthy of listening to and who, if they put forward relevant facts I didn't know or expect to hear I will make an effort to try and verify. Then there are others who, how can I put his politely... I expect to hear "less well considered opinions" from which I tend to skim and dismiss.

However, as a wise man once said "a fool is somebody who can learn nothing from the genius, a genius is somebody who can still learn something from the fool."

@PaulQ @tufftrader whilst it may be polite to issue a prompt notice to shareholders and the market at the end of the exclusivity period, there is no guarantee that an agreement will have been reached and no guarantee that any announcement will be made.

We may hear something on Monday, however I would say the odds are that we don't.

Chris2 - that is the tone of comment I was encouraging people to avoid.

By all means find some more polite way of encouraging people to consider down side risks, question what are known facts and what is merely enthusiastic sentiment, but the way you phrase things just makes you seem either bitter, angry or dismissively arrogant, none of which helps your cause and which just leads others to respond in kind by insulting you.

I don't think it is right that anybody should be insulted the way you are, but you do seem to bring it upon yourself. I've occasionally been gently mocked for being a little too cautious or unoptimistic, but it can remain in good humour if you don't rub folk up the wrong way from the outset.

One of, if not, my first post here was calling out the petty squabbling and name calling that erupts on the UFO board from time to time, and how it puts off new comers from joining this board.

As many of you may have since become aware, I am not one noted for excessive enthusiasm, preferring to take a more cautious view that questions facts and remain more skeptical of a lot of the short term sentiment and hype that can be read here. As such I welcome those with contrarian or negative views to discuss. So yes I do believe in the long term prospects of the company but don't believe it will make me a millionaire by Christmas.

Anybody that posts anything that appears to take delight in belittling others or reveling in their failures does little to credit their own views. Nor is their any dignity in "sinking" to such levels to retaliate.

There are some folk here who seem to to enjoy expressing views which they know will antagonise others, posts which contribute nothing and who lose otherwise valid points amid needlessly vitriolic phrasing. There are also folk who have shown themselves more than capable of polite and useful discussion who seem , for some unfathonable reason, inclined to rise to such baiting and then stoop to petty responses.

So before posting ask yourselves am I making myself unpopular because of the points I make, or the way I choose to express them? There is far more tolerance of unpopular views here if expressed in a manner which isn't derogatory.

There's no doubting that the data shows were are in an area of high grade ore, as very few of the results were low enough to call poor, but we will have to wait for further data to tell if the whole site is likely to average high enough to warrant a premium price.

At the moment the data is suggestive of a lot of "good" and only some "excellent" ore, which is not a bad thing, but we investors are always greedy and want more.

well the knee jerk reaction is always for the SP to drop upon a placing, typically to the placing value, the real test is whether the BOD can grow the value of the company enough with the funds to off-set the dilution.

Explorers needs funds but it is the results of that exploration and drilling that count.
