I decided to utilise some funds and top up here today, in aticipation of news. I don't post on the board as it's not a big holding for me and I don't follow it closely enough to contribute to the discussion. I would however like to express my thanks to those who have been posted some very informative information over the past few weeks I've been reading.

I also went into the red on this a couple of weeks ago follow a large buy. Patience pays off....

I think what we are seeing here is unusual and a result of the huge rise in NCYT.

I bet a lot of people were kicking themselves for not getting in sooner on that one.

People want in here before the big news begins to flow - so they don't miss out twice. Equally, anybody who did well on NCYT will be very liquid and now have a possible opportunity to repeat it.

Even if a vaccine can be devleoped (and that's a big if), the next question is how long will the vaccine protect you for? And how long will it take to immunise everybody in the world? How we will know who has been immunised (such as people flying in from abroad)? For these reasons, testing won't stop even then, IMO.

Myles, thank you for giving me the confidence to invest in this early on. I wouldn't have done so to the extent that I have if it wasn't for your information, and I'm now in a very nice profit. Hopefully it continues upwards, I'm sure it will.

It will close around 87p IMO. We've had our rise for the day, but traders have probably taken profits already. I think most will want to hold and stay in over the weekend as there's every possibility that Avacta will make another media appearance at some point soon.

When this breaks 90p I will probably wet myself.

I've topped up my holding here this morning. I was hoping to buy the dips but errr... they don't seem to exisit here. It just plods on higher and higher.

I've probably just cursed the share by saying that. Open your short positions and get ready for a reversal!

Anybody care to speculate on whether the placing will even happen?

Where will this share price be by the time we reach the 6th May. Probably over a quid. Chances of placing being approved at 18p? I'm not sure.

I don't think it was a de-ramp to be fair. Just a strange way of thinking when you look at the bigger picture of whats going on here.

The cheaper price was yesterday buddy.

This is only speculation. We don't know if he is referring to Cytiva/Avacta.

There's a reasonable chance he is as the pieces seem to fit together, but we don't know.

I sent an email to the Sky news desk today saying they cut the CEO off abruptly when they interviewed him last week and here's an RNS his company released this morning.

This is very much news worthy IMO. I don't know of any other tests (except Sona, if people can actually afford it) which have the real ability to bring us out of lockdown in the short term.

IMO the lab tests are very useful and could help lockdown measures to be relaxed because there will be data, but anything which isn't an instant result is too slow - in terms of going about day to day life.

This is promising news! I was under the impression, however, that immunity has not been proven with Covid-19. There's an assumption it will be (based on similar coronavirus), but nobody knows.

Happy to be told I'm wrong on that. A quick bit of Googling says that is the case though.

There is no evidence that people who have recovered from coronavirus have immunity to the disease, the World Health Organisation (WHO) has said.

Antigen test is more important until immunity is proven, IMO.

I hadn't looked at Myles' account for a few days to see if he had posted anything there. I've just spotted his post from 6 hours ago, reference GLR1990's information on Mammoth not being competition and the only delcared competition being Sona Nanotech.

I'm sure it's been posted here already by GLR1990 and this is old news, but I've not been following the board so much this week. This is good news for everyone who is invested in AVCT.

As much as we would all like AVCT to be the first, there's certaintly plenty of space for two companies within this marketplace so it doesn't really matter if we end up being slightly behind IMO.

Dissapointing week for AVCT so far, after the buzz of last week. Whilst I expected it to be a bumpy ride and I'm fine with that, it's never fun to watch a share price going backwards.

I'm sure a lot of people have gone chasing after GDR. Plus, we've got these placing shares casting a dark cloud because people don't really seem to undestand the mechanisms. With a lack of news on AVCT this week, but news happening elsewhere, I'm sure that a lot of PI's/traders will be buying other shares and waiting for the dust to settle over here.

I have no doubt there will be fireworks in the next two or three weeks. The fuse has been lit already! One good RNS and everybody is going to be piling in here. Our time will come...

Gret post vrmnd. You are exactly right. There's this idea that only the company who is first will succeed.

I would be interested to hear any examples of large markets where there is only one company filling that space. Even for markets much smaller than this, there are usually numerous competitors within it.

Lets not forget how big the market for testing is. It's not a niche, it's most of the planet.
