Just to add to my below post, this is exclusive for direct to consumers only. This is very important as it indicates there will be other distributors.

Clearly the market wanted to see a more established distribution network. I'm sure there's reason behind it and this might become clearer in time. Cytiva must have some connections who would've been options, so to decide upon a start up company can't be without reason.

The people behind the new company are very experienced and 'should' know what are doing. I can't see Avacta taking the risk of having this incredible business opportunity ruined by distribution issues. Maybe naive, but it doesn't make sense to think otherwise IMO.

I don't think medusa19 should have that website live, it's terrible. Would've been better with a landing page just saying 'coming soon!' It looks like it was built in an hour by an amateur with nasty stock images they got for free.

A little uncertain for now perhaps, but I'm not worried.

The reward here to date has been multiples of many peoples original investment. Looking at other Pharma shares with lesser products, it could still be multiples from here on.

Would that level of upside exist if there wasn't any risk? No.
Do I think the potential reward vs the risk (which short term is Avacta and Cytiva failing at the LFT) is very good? Yes.

We are invested in a company which is working on a product the world desperately needs. The CEO has proved very reliable to date and hasn't indicated any likely for reason for failure. In fact, he's done the opposite and said they will develop a LFT. Furthermore, the company we are invested in is working with a proven and capable multi-billion dollar USA based company to make this happen.

The demand for this probably would/will be so big that Avacta have left their options open for other partnerships (still to be announced) because no single company will be able to make it and distribute it fast enough.

Whilst there was some positive news a few days ago regarding the manufacture capacity should a vaccine be found, it's been followed by this not so positive news.

Until a vaccine is found, POC testing will surely be the way forwards.

Not being pedantic, but there's two ways people use it. Mutliples of original investment or percentage gain. Just had a quick Google and both seem equally accepted.

Wiki says I'm right, Motley Fool says you're right. It seems the former is more common on LSE boards though.

Yes an absolutely outstanding interview. To be honest I don't read this board much, I watch my other investments much more. I don't really see any risk here to I'm very relaxed and happy to let it run it's course.

Yes Avacta has been less of a bumpy ride than I expected. I thought it was going to be worse than it has been! Nice upward trend.

For me, 160p will be a great milestone to pass. My first and largest tranche is at 40p, so that will be 4 bags.

I know I've said this a lot recently, but I'm still surprised by the lack of media coverage. That will give us a great boost when it happens.

Yes I'm amazed by how much coverage that story has received - brief research on past development of vaccines should immediately tell any reporter how difficult they are to make and how long it normally takes to do so! Definitely seems to have got out of hand. Boris also warning a vaccine may never be found.

Have you ever heard of a program called 'the news'? I would highly recommend it. Something which was announced over the weekend is there are provisions being put in place to make up to 30 million doses of a vaccine as quickly as possible (by autumn) if a vaccine should be found and approved.

If it's therapeutic as you seem to think - what you're suggesting is that in a few months time half the population are going to be almost simultaneously infected with COVID-19? Can we just get some clarity on that, possibily also another random web link too please?

I cross referenced my recollection with some Googling before posting which appeared to agree with what I said. Now revisiting it I can see that you are correct.

Even if this is true, it would only render antibody testing useless (aside from gathering statistics). Antigen testing would still be needed, possibly even more so.

Steelwatch that's a brilliant find. No guarantee it's Cytiva, but they're a multi billion USA based company and he specifically said lateral flow "like a pregnancy test."

If nothing else it's a vote of confidence, from somebody who should be extremely well informed, that a lateral flow device can be created to detect Covid-19.

I've just added an upvote for Comek. I laughed so much that I felt it needed some more appreciation.

I hope the upvotes on his post are for the comedy value... and not because there's actually other investors in this PHARMA SHARE who agree and also don't understand the absolute fundamental principle of a vaccine.
