A 30p takeover price per share works out to a cost of £195m or $260m to a buyer. Doesn't sound much for a platform targeting $100bn auto immune and $10bn diagnostics markets does it?

At that price level I might even prefer a licensing deal to unlock greater shareholder value going forward.

I'm hoping the delay in a deal announcement is down to big pharma deep diving further into P140 in order to determine what they're prepared to offer. :-)

Roger - Just proving what a boring "contrarian investor" you are yet again. Pretty suspicious behaviour to denigrate a company you allegedly hold shares in. And I'm very happy with my choices so don't continually post the same old tired lines. It isn't working and thinking you might change people's minds, well, that's just cuckoo.

The market doesn't always get it right by the way. That's why some investors make a very good living by not following the herd.

While we wait for news on a deal or no deal, it's reminding me of a scene in the film 'Crimson Tide' where there's a pause in hostilities between Denzel Washington and Gene Hackman while they wait for the engineer, Vossler to repair the radio in order to receive an IAM message. signifying whether they need to launch their missiles or not.

I'm really hoping for a buyout here. It's been a very long IMM journey for many of us and a takeover would bring things to a quick conclusion. Any licensing deal is going to take 3-5 years before we see any meaningful revenue rolling in outside of any upfront or milestone payments.

And not forgetting that the closer a drug is to market, the more likely it is that a big pharma will prefer a takeover rather than a licensing deal.

Extremely patronising opinion from Nolupus there. Really don't think any of us with money invested here need lectures on the high risk/reward profile of pharma shares from someone with a declared no investment.

Perhaps your masters are invested though? Is that a question you would be prepared to answer?

I guess it depends on whether the legal agreement has a timeout clause. Hope so and if it does and it's triggered, Tim has played an absolute blinder if he gets a deal across the line.

Out of interest, does anyone know what Alora's (and by implication Avion's) market cap is? I've looked in the past and drawn a blank.

Hi SYN00GOLD, I think if you take into account the shares in circulation and outstanding warrants (approx. 650m shares in total) then it's closer to £1 a share.

However, point taken that it's many multiples higher than where the share price is currently. Exciting times and hopefully we see a buyout. Odds of that scenario increase based on P140 being late stage, the potential 20 year patent and patent cliff issue fears.
