RE: £500M Market Cap30 Dec 2021 14:54
AFC's Market Cap and it's value are very disconnected, because AFC have not had the IP valued by an authority on the subject. If the IP were valued, IMVHO the market Cap would have to quadruple immediately, Alkamem on it's own is worth A LOT of money, far more than the current Market Cap.
Market Cap is only what the market (all types of investors that have bought the shares) deems as fair or discounted value based on their or someone else's future expected Market Cap of the company. For example, a PI might view AFC's Market Cap as discounted when viewed against the Market Cap of peers (such as CWR, ITM, PPS, BE, FCEL, BLDP and PLUG). PI's and ii's may look at the broker target of 186p per share (which implies a Market Cap of multiples of today's) and deem the stock discounted. Some may look at the balance sheet whilst others may not, some may take it into account whilst others will only be interested in whether AFC will need to raise any cash in the short term (which it clearly does not need to).
