Kicked into the long grass by 5 years of transition plus huge government stimulus.
Those roll-over deals are coming to an end though.....No sign of replacements and UK has a very weak hand now.
History of last few years shows we have terrible negotiators (probably because they're only choosing from a Brexiteer field) and can only sign god-awful trade deals (vis, Australia, New Zealand).
UK with 9% inflation now, weakening currency. GDP growth and productivity falling behind our contemporaries.
102% debt to GDP ratio.
International reputation in the dustbin.

Can you refute any of those reasons why you (and me, thank you) are poorer because of Brexit?
- Lower GBP means things cost more
- Reduced GDP meaning taxes have to be higher
- Increased admin = more costs

You make statements like "I don't know anyone who is poorer because of Brexit" and yet you can't even respond to that!

Theosus, I would agree with the tone of that. However, just saying "we are where we are" is not an option. This is a £trillion mistake that my generation is going to pay the cost of (before we inevitably pass it on to my children's generation).

Now, as I live in Devon, I've got something to do today.

And yet the UK isn't Greece! Or in Greece's position. And it is very unlikely to ever be in Greece's position.

I can see plenty of pitfalls of the EU (it's a typical Brexiteer defence to claim that anyone who preferred to remain thinks the EU is a panecea of greatness, it's not). I just wanted a plan. There was no plan. This still is no plan. But we've shafted so many people and businesses so the very least "Leave" can do is deliver the things they promised. So far it's not going well.

Those countries have not been an integral part of the EU community for 40 years. Those countries don't share a land border where they p*ss about arguing how we're going to have an effective customs arrangements. Those countries don't have massive financial committments to the EU which they threaten not to pay. Those countries don't have governments that continually cause conflict with the EU as a way of playing to their base. Those countries don't behave like they should be entitled to their previous benefits when they've left the club. Those countries don't benefit from the EU's trade deals (which the UK has rolled-over but those extensions are soon to run out with no replacements in sight).

So comparison to "other countries outside the EU's direct control" is pointless. It's another deliberate distraction from the fact that all over the world, as Stagecoach indicates, countries do most of their trade geographically.

You can't square a circle and we shouldn't accept a head in the sand approach to this.

And yes, most companies (not 99%) are SMEs. I am talking about the SMEs who used to export to Europe. That's fallen by around two-thirds. You try to point to overall exports (which includes all the multi-nationals) because you can't refute the damage that you've done to the SMEs.

But hey, don't let me stop you making Brexit a success. We're all waiting.

I note you couldn't address any specifics so tried to divert into how you have "contributed". Funny that.

Is the pound lower? Yes
Is GDP falling behind our EU contemporaries? Yes
Do we have more admin costs because of Brexit? Yes

You can't argue/deny any of these things. So they all contribute to increased costs. Which means you are poorer as a result. It also means you have made everyone else poorer. But you don't have the balls to even acknowlegde it.

There's no point discussing Brexit on here because it is a echo chamber of 1% of society. Let me guess MVarawa, you're:

The above means you represent 1% of society. I suspect you don't look at the other 99%.
