Jonnyrh I'm not aware of any special dividend plan yet, though that wouldn't surprise me, burford as before will mostly quietly reach out to its biggest shareholders to gauge their opinions on any such payout, I myself would rather Burford use any near certain or possible pay out to beef up its balance sheet and pump much more money into more cases, and also to raise its yearly earnings and dividend to accompany its much higher future share price, it just seems sensible to me.

Giving people hope is not a factual statement, it's just giving hope when a share price is shattered by a Muddy waters attack and a share price of £2.75p.

In that writeup in " Valuations and risk".--- Page 89 --- At the bottom of that column on the right hand side right at the bottom under Adjusted net income ex-YPF per share , it states of $114c of earnings for 2023, this figure I feel will be wrong, it's to far out and no consideration was given for our pent up pandemic cases, my calculations because of this were $1.66c ,
and with a accompanying higher share price. It's only my opinion ,though I really do appreciate the brilliant work that's went into that writeup.

That's a really good question,

I can't give a accurate 100% answer, though it's also my belief from what I've seen and read that Burford can't put this initial win on its profits column report, as the case and settlement amounts and also expected possible appeals and also time durations or time frames are not totally concluded yet, though they will most definitely mention the whole issue somewhere in its accounting to us its shareholders, though maybe off the official balance and itself, it's difficult to know what Burford will do around the settlement of this case, so we have to relie on Burfords past decision making here, so if we use that , it will sell off a reasonable part if not all of this settlement award to 3rd parties , that way it will reduce or mitigate its financial risk to the company and it's shareholders , that way it would be in keeping with its past decision making choices and decision making protocols. That's a typical Lawyer attitude in itself.

Geek233 yes the shares can do anything at anytime LOL, though I stated the other day that "opec "cut the oil production , that raises inflation in this volatile climate, that makes investors sell ordinary stocks in America, and around the world, they then look for safer inflationary proof companies and shares to place all or some of that money into inflationary proof companies like burford, the American market is well down today and Burford is well up today, it could be for that exact reason or just a normal ordinary coincidence , though interesting as I just mentioned this the other day, I've always noticed when the American market moved ahead on a particular day then our shares normally done little or nothing on that day, when the American market plunged for whatever reason our shares perked up somwhat. So there is a connection to our share being seen as a somewhat safer haven in troubled times or even a threat of a recession coming. It's just my observations and not proof for this to be the actual case, though worth the observation when it occurs.

Starresnoff that USA analyst is definitely on the path of finding out Burfords true worth this year, so as I've said numerous times and others have also said here , we should mostly double our share price this year, though the really big pay day is the years after that, I stated $40 dollar's inside 5 years, I'm hardly sticking my neck out for that share price prediction. Because it might just come from a reasonably easy organic natural increased litigation funding work flow. Time will let us know ok, LOL.

Well I've this morning sold a then bought again a small amount of Burfords shares because of the tax year ending on the 6th of april, I'm quite sure there's plenty of burford profit takers doing the same thing,

What's evident now is that ordinary and institutional share buyer's will not commit to a much higher share price until they get more evidence or clarity to Burfords earnings or substantial settlement award, the settlement award I can understand ok, though this year's earnings look reasonably clear , with more than 30 big litigation cases scheduled and going to trial this year, 3 times the number of 2022, and already burford have stated they see $209 million dollars of earnings coming in from cases and around right now, Yes right now, it's in their RNS,so with all those other remaining 30 or so case's churning out huge earnings for us, then it's not rocket science to deduct that Burford could or really should exceed well over $600 million dollars this year, that in itself should double our share price in itself, even without our multi billion dollar YPF award being settled.

So all those financial burford ratios will be jumping out of our accounts and shouting BUY BUY BUY, I once stated I could easily see our shares at $40 dollars inside a 5 to 10 year period, though that time period now has to be revised to maybe less than 5 years now, our prospects really look that good now,

Christopher Bogart seen a big opportunity to create the biggest litigation funder in the world, and he then done it, I suspect he's one of those very clever people who can identify a opportunity and then follow through on his plan, so I really think he has a lot more up great financially rewarding plans up his sleeve for Burford than he's completely sharing with us right now. It's only a matter of time before he tells us.

Our share price is inevitably going to be driven up and down like a yoyo, most of these day trader's and transient temporary share buyer's won't hold for to long as they don't properly understand the company and it's prospects, they see a profit and lock it in without understanding that they could double triple and more their money from this point onwards, bad Heard instincts will lose them substantially more money in the longer run, do your home work on a company ,buy and then tightly hold for compounded futher growth, Burford will deliver this in a massive way ok,

What's so incredible here is that Burfords future fortune and massive share rise is there in front of their eyes and they can't see it, or they are not interested in anything that doesn't look like a quick daily instant profit, takes all kinds I guess.

Today's sell off, I'd say its mostly our professional institutional speculators driving the price down to take out People's stop loss positions and make a large profit, the opportunity for a massive rerating here is so blatantly obvious to me , this really is a give away for anyone who will buy and hold these shares to just the end of this year. Inbetween that we are always going to get these massive yoyo swings in our share price, that's what history has shown us here.

yes it takes somebody to cheer for Burford when things get downbeat and a high share price looks like a distant dream away, and then you get the very people who actually need someone to cheer and shout the loudest for the actual share they hold themselves, and they can't see that they themselves could be possibly be damaging their own share price and interest by attacking me, it's nonesensical .

Magmanus49 I've never ever seen a rise like that without seeing serious Profit taking after the big rise, so it could be a few days before we steady our share price before we know what's ahead for us , IE Argentina's appeal plans or not ?, Damages arrived at in court, and then if Burford wants to or allowed to sell any part of this first win ruling to 3rd parties, ? Loads of questions to answer before the markets can give their own verdict on our share price. Interesting situation now.

I also get annoyed when absolutely anyone loses money investing, I desperately want the posters and investors here who have bought above this current share price and have waited for absolutely years to get their money back ,and they also deserve to get a great profit for all that psychological stress they've encountered over them years, they know who they are. and this year can deliver that dream to be in really serious Profit here, I'm 100% confident about this ok.
