Good post thanks SS7. If you're memory of $0.07 / lb copper is reasonably accurate, then your calculations are ultra prudent as qualified by you, PLUS the 15% gift to ENSA wouldn't cost us anything like that as surely a deal would be done earlier. Also, the gold value would pretty much drop straight to the bottom line as it would be brought to the surface along with the copper, so why not add that 25m oz of gold and see what the sp would look like?
Hi Fishboy991 - digested and understood - I cant argue with anything you say. I have been in Solg over 7 years or so, after it short up from 20 odd to 80p inside one day. I had been watching, but early that morning I dived in and an automatic trade a few hours later and £7.5k profit in the bank thank you very much.
Since then, I've stockpiled to around 540k shares and have occasionally traded, but generally, I buy when the sp retraces and am a happy holder, sitting on around £60k profit, but firmly believing this could be a life changing share and I am backing it all the way. I just don't see an attractive deal being approved by NM and co until the proven resource is 2 or 3 times higher than the last MRE. I may be wrong. It's all speculation, but I am happy with weeks like last week, a steady rise out of the 20[ zone and I want to enjoy learning, and making a shed load of cash
Qualibashi - you are entitled to your opinion, but I have stated my case and I firmly believe in it. Why haven't the major players jumped in already when the sp was falling from 46p down to 20p? They will fully understand the timescales facing Solg and will only make a serious play when a significant part of the prospective mineral resource is proven. I'd go 12 months and more and NM will want to maximise shareholder value so he wont want bids coming in yet. Huge upside potential and we are still in the 20p's
Thanks sto9apc - a very informed post and I am happy to concede that you are more likely to be closer to events than I. My point simply is that as the prospects for Solg get larger and larger, I feel the majors are less likely rather than more likely to want to jump in. Their business models won't want them to become copper and gold prospectors even though they can save a shed load of cash by so doing. they tend to need proven resources so maybe Cascabel being sold off first makes more sense.
I haven't had time to study all posts, but the one overriding thought I always keep in mind when thinking about the majors stake building is that they are NOT mineral exploration companies and they tend to buy in once the resources are pretty well proven in the ground. I don't see anyone buying Solgold this year and maybe even next year. There are vast areas of licenced ground to be mapped out and geo surveys done before the real excitement starts.
IMHO
All regulars to this and iii websites would know that a fair value for Solg, either through organic growth over the next 2 to 3 years, or with a take out purchase, is north of £1 so its difficult to get too excited with 28p.
Anyone wanting a quick profit can sell out at this level but those who are here for the long term will be well rewarded with huge profits when the bidding starts in earnest. The next MRE will show a massive increase over the previous one with the additional sites coming into the calculation. Then we will finally say goodbye to the 20's and even 30's I believe.
All IMHO, so don't shoot. I have held for 5 or 6 years with regular chunks going into isa's. I won't sell till we are above 50p as we tested 46p a couple of years back, so new highs before I even think about top slicing.

Thanks for the link
Hia Wata, Please can you confirm your source for the price target? Thanks DG
Any interpretations from the news just out?
On what do you base this opinion themoneyman? Gut feeling or fundamentals. Please share this with us. Thanks G
A third 105mW 6-year sales contract with Topray Solar has led to Renesola announcing an upwards revision of $60m to its 2008 sales figure. Looks like we will see this share moving back to the £5 level over the coming weeks
Even more strange to me is the strong rise even though buys and sells are more or less evenly matched. The MM's must be squeezing some shares out of sellers in the expectation of a good run in the SP. I see it breaking through £5 soon and then onto £5.50 quite quickly. IMHO. Not ramping
We've had quite a few days of rises and after the US fell a few days ago, the FTSE is down 140 points or so. There are quite a few buyers taking advantage of the fall. Nothing to worry about IMO
