Methinks the cock up over deliveries to KFC with 750 out of 900 restaurants now closed is going to cost DHL big, both financially and reputation wise. Should have posted it all out RMG 1st class!

Nothing to complain about from my point of view. She has steered the company through quite a few sticky moments since privatisation and was given a bum start by government incompetence in setting the float price too low. Although the IA dispute went to the wire it seems to have been resolved amicably. All in all not bad and a mile away from some of the bad practices exposed by the recent collapse of Carrillion or the accounting scandals visited on Tesco, BT et al. Chill out!

Skindle. Could not agree more. Just filter the news pedant. As we all know, sarcasm is the very lowest form of wit and his aim seems to be to discourage anyone else but himself from posting anything of any note on here. His other MO is to pop up on company boards (CLLN, PFG etc.) after a big share price crash to brag about how much money he has made from the misfortune of others. I used to think it was just me but now I realise he just cannot help himself.

The nightmare scenario is that the evasive action may occur well in advance of the next election on 5th may 2022 and for reasons unrelated to the threat of a labour government. In other words a Corbyn victory may be the result of, rather than the cause of such actions. As for such changes being bad for "our Union friends". Don't kid yourself, we will all be royally screwed (or shafted as you seem to prefer).

I am sure that all the companies who feel threatened will take severe evasive action in advance of the next election. As for individual shareholders their response is up to them. However, love the man or loathe him, the way things are going at the moment you would not bet against him becoming the next PM.

AW100 I have never held a short position in any stock nor do I hold any such position in TESCO. I look at companies with a view to investing long term and reinvesting the dividend. I have taken a look at TESCO and it simply is not one of them. I note that the Sage of Omaha having dumped his entire stake back in 2014 has not rushed to buy back in despite the so called positive management changes. The legal case is just another negative and will remain so until the court case is resolved.

"The law may not agree with me on that" got it in one! As for Job migration I haven't seen a rush of former local authority bin men turning up to cook and serve school dinners. I think you underestimate the skills required to interface with the public in a positive way.

The oft quoted "different jobs" argument just does not cut it I am afraid. The Birmingham case, which was finally settled at an estimated cost of �1.1B, involved home care workers and refuse collectors/street cleaners while the Lanarkshire case (also settled in favour of the women) involved dinner ladies and binmen. You may not like it matey but things are changing rapidly in the world of work and employers as well as employees need to adapt. Of course Tesco et al. may have noted the previous court judgements and put legal barriers to such claims in place already. The message comimg out of all of this is if you want to make real money don't even think about waving a spanner at owt, go into the law my son............

You neither have to trust or distrust the markets and as for RMG providing "many unpleasant surprises" that is life in general is it not? In fairness, RMG has also provided a few pleasant ones on the way but are you exhibiting selective memory here? The float to peak at near �6 was certainly a pleasant surprise as is the recent resilience after the draft agreement with the unions. In the meantime a very healthy dividend has been paid twice a year. Current market volatility aside, I am more than happy to be holding here and seeing my stake accumulate and compound up.

It is going to be an interesting day. What will the US markets do? Still RMG showing nicely and the only tick up in the sea of red that is my portfolio!

Lambbr. Does not matter a jot mate. The comparison in the lawsuits for the local authority was between binmen and school dinner ladies. The latter still won despite the obvious differences in the nature of the work carried out. This is going to sweep through society like a tide, so better get used to it. We have ditched Tesco completely since they changed the clubcard system (we used to pay �500 a month by direct debit) and now shop locally and at other supermarkets. Glad to see the back of it in hindsight as the thought of the weekly shop was downright depressing. To our surprise the produce is much better elsewhere and we have money left over at the end of the month having set the �600 aside as well.
