The oft quoted "different jobs" argument just does not cut it I am afraid. The Birmingham case, which was finally settled at an estimated cost of �1.1B, involved home care workers and refuse collectors/street cleaners while the Lanarkshire case (also settled in favour of the women) involved dinner ladies and binmen. You may not like it matey but things are changing rapidly in the world of work and employers as well as employees need to adapt. Of course Tesco et al. may have noted the previous court judgements and put legal barriers to such claims in place already. The message comimg out of all of this is if you want to make real money don't even think about waving a spanner at owt, go into the law my son............
