I might be somewhat critical about the take up of UK home trials where we have a free NHS to conduct them. But in countries where health services are charged, home trials ought to be very popular indeed. So my money goes on a large take-up by the US if successful. One caveat though. Private hospitals have much to gain from long stays, especially from insurance backed patients.

Home trial offerings suggests that hospital trials are running at an immeasurable rate. And by immeasurable rate I don't mean a high one. I cannot see a high rate of home trials for surely if someone has more severe Covid symptoms they would want to go into hospital. The only news that will make any sense is that hospitals have picked up this treatment and majoring on it. In which case home trials become obsolete.

Miggy - You miss my point. I am talking about visiting hospital with symptoms. Are they likely to trial anything on me at that stage ? probably no. So at what point would I choose a home trial ? When I am really suffering in which case I go to hospital where they may undertake a trial approach. The logic of home trials is unsound.

Given that I became symptomatic but not in any crippling sense, I would probably want to be referred to my local hospital for any treatments they may be trialling. I suspect the vast majority would. Were the hospital to offer me a home trial kit then I would accept that. However, if the hospital were to discharge me as having mild Covid, what is the probability of their advising me of the Synairgen home treatment method ? As an inknowledgable Joe Public, I would probably accept the view that I would probably get better and go home. So why would I even care about the availability of a free trial kit by way of Synairgen or their agents. In consequence, as Joe Public, I would either get better (a high probability) or get worse and be admitted to hospital where they may or may not be trialling Synairgen for the bed ridden cases.

Their relative success to date is not a harbinger for future world beating developments. Once their books evidence a years profit from production and order book success, that could well be a catalyst for their cashing in via a company sell off.

Not sure what are the costs of setting up the new production line but that will be offset against profits over say 5 years but should normally appear as capital value in the Balance sheet and depreciated accordingly

All this fake news about vaccine successes insults my intelligence. If someone were to vaccinate 40,000 young, old, people of colour with a saline solution, I guarantee that it would be 99% effective. No immunity but hellishly effective. Reason is that 99% of us either don't catch Covid, are currently immune or asymptomatic. Then tell all 40,000 not to party (which is probably what vaccined people will be told for the whole of 2021, irrespective of probable immunity) and then carry on with the "approved" saline solution for the waiting billions. You can fool most people most of the time just like they do with the flu vaccine. I therefore conclude that the best investment of all is with the manufacturers of both medical saline and syringes. Having said all this outlandish talk , I must now wash my mouth out - probably with a saline solution ??
