Jayfax I take your point but I don't think I am confused. I have been betting for more than 50 years and understand betting markets. Assuming you are correct about there being no time limit, the odds are even more absurd. You'd have to be insane to have a bet like that when the likelihood is that no country will leave within a reasonable time period. I wouldn't bet on something like that, but if I did I'd want a lot bigger than 6/4. If a country left in 20 years, assuming you were still alive, you might have forgotten all about the bet !

As a lifelong punter, I don't even understand how you can have a betting market like that. Italy 6/4 to be next to leave is ridiculous. Surely, such a market would have to be time limited to, say 10 years. You would then have to include an option of " no country to leave". This would be odds on favourite. Italy would be much bigger than 6/4. These sort of markets only make sense when an event is sure to happen. e.g "Next premiership manager to leave".

Totally agree Freya, I have found it depressing all my life. When I was a young long haired git in the 60's, I really thought that by the time I was the grey haired old git I am now, the world would be a better place. Sadly that is far from the case. Just looking at the next general election odds on Betfair. In the most seats market, absolutely nothing in it with lab and con both around evens. In the overall majority market very little between lab, con and no overall majority.

To me the approach is like someone who belongs to a club. They say they they don't want to pay their subs anymore. They then add, " by the way, is it OK if I carry on using the facilities? ".

Amazing the drivel that's spouted on here. News coming, massively undervalued, market makers on the fiddle, going to soar next week, next month, next century. All based on precisely nothing other than wishful thinking. Exactly the same things were being said when it was ten times the price.

All this talk of ramping/deramping cracks me up. Does any sane person really think anything said on a board has any effect on a share price ? Are we really supposed to get excited because oex is back to where it was two weeks ago ? When this was close to 1p people were saying it was going to 5,10,20 p. My average is 0.84. I don't expect to get my money back but there is no point in selling at this level. I will hang on and hope for an unlikely miracle.
