Yes, there is a lot of science behind fracking. Trouble is it's nearly all based on North American geology where the rocks are more brittle and easier to frack. The Cambay geology is very different, which is why the original frack of 77h in 2014 wasn't economically fracked. Also ONGC spent billions on their own fracking project before giving up. Guess they might be thinking again if Cambay is a big success. Possibly, why DGH are taking such a keen interest.

ss. i see little danger of the reservoir collapsing. the main problem with the old fracking methodology was the the high clay content of the rocks. this made them softer and the fracs to close up and reduce the flow. they addressed this problem by using a much co****r proppant which is designed to hold the fracs open.

Roland said in an email last year that he hoped the price for 50% (or presumably just under) would be a free carry for drilling the first two wells. When you look at the presentation it says the Capex for the first year is 40 million usd. In light of that the actual terms of the deal are going to be very interesting.

When I said nothings changed I meant since this morning and that everything is proceeding just as it was before today's drop.

This is what Roland said in an email exchange on 28th September last year.

"I think you’ve homed in on what most shareholders are missing in so far as future new horizontal wells will be drilled in virgin rock. C-77H is an old well which has already seen significant production. Extrapolation future production from new wells is not an exact science since we’re dealing with rocks of variable quality but we’re confident that a horizontal well of c, 1000m with multiple fracked zones will give us the required production rates. And fracking 2 zones compared to 20 zones has relatively low incremental cost."

We know from the presentation that they are aiming for 4 mmscfd for the base case or more if possible and they will optimise the number of zones to achieve optimum results.

In the updated presentation they increased the target for 77h with artificial lift from 0.5 to 1 mmscfd. It would be fantastic if they achieved that, particularly in respect of improved near term cash flow.

SS. I know sausage disagrees but I've always thought that announcing the flow rates and jv together or at least in quick succession would give the biggest boost to the sp. It does seem pretty unlikely though.

One thing we should bear in mind is that whatever the flow rate for 77h is, it wont be representative of the new wells, which will be much better.

Different situation Sausage. It dropped to the low inJanuary because progress on the condensate problem was so slow. It then increased due to the likelihood that it would be solved, Roland's visit to India etc, with s few spikes along the way.

At the end of the day, it doesn't really matter if it's a 100% or whatever in a day or over a longer period. Maybe it will bag on flow rates and then again on jv. All speculation really. Let's just enjoy finding out.

I did not say that 10% is ok but it's not 100%. This morning when Sausage asked what % increase I thought we might get with a good jv, I said it could be 100% or more with overrun on the day.

I did then comment that it was a bit disappointing that the 16% gain had fallen away to 10%.

Sausage asked why I was disappointed when I had said only a jv would move the price. I then reminded him that I had said only a jv would move it by a large amount, the aforementioned 100%.

What's negative about any of that?

I still think that only a good jv, will give us a bag or even more. If it goes to higher level before that, even better, it will give us a higher springboard .

At the moment, I the most confident that we should see a significant increase in the next month or so, than I have been for a long time. Surely Roland wouldn't have scheduled the presentation otherwise ?

SS. Agree removing the condensate is a given. They didn't actually do anything to remove the condensate previously. They had to shut in the well, for 2 to 3 days, to allow the pressure to build up enough to get ridvof some of the condensate. No where near economic. So different this time, but shouldn't be any problem.

Don't see any contradiction Sausage. Of course it is disappointing to go from 16% up to 10% up. Also, I did say only a jv would give a big increase, but I was talking about maybe 100%.

If we assume the brine and condensate columm is1500 metres as before and the diameter is that of the production tubing, that is 2 3/8 inches, that only comes to just over 4000 litres. So in theory an hour or two.

Disappointing close. Still 10 % up aint bad.
