One positive for me is that the drill is now warm and a lot of the gremlins have been sorted, so with less depth to achieve, it will be nice and slow to the TD to minimize stress and mishaps - that’s if they can crew it!

The area you are looking at has an underslung Bracket and connector plate (pipe carriers) to secure the big U-bolts to hold the pipework in place up the length of the main Box Beam - there are several of them as you can see. Theses are welded to the Main Box. The defect you think you see is more likely to be removal/repair/reweld of the bracket and plate during pipe repairs, minor damage in transport, etc., rather than an issue with the Main Box Beam. As I have said before, the Main Box will be constructed of 12mm or 16mm steel plate, seam welded, and that isn't going to rust away into a hole that needs patched, in inland Tanzania, in 11 or 12 years. The marks further up look as if Vinyl Stickers have been removed.

Complete non issue in my opinion.
