RE: Valhalla20 Feb 2023 10:10
Oh dear Tiny, trying to put me in the same corner as karenable, again, for no reason.. I do not have an agenda. How about you?
I'll rephrase because I do not try to be negative for a reason and for sure I do not try to put AML in negative light. You try harder to push me in that corner than I try to put AML in negative light. And everyone that likes your posts all just want to hear about rainbows and nothing else, I wonder why..?
But I am no Tiny man, and will try to say it in a different tone.
How I know AM put themselves in a difficult position? Well you are right, I do not 100% know. But can you prove everything you said on this board with 100% facts? No I dont think so. Please stop assaulting me for no reason, you TinyTiny man..
It happens I know quite a lot about manufacturing, product development of all sorts and its costs. Yes you are correct, I can not prove that making a complete new tub for Valhalla is more expensive than re-using the Valkyrie one. But, just by looking at both cars (yes I know Valhalla is only prototype, oh and yes I have seen both in real life, how about you TinyMan?), you can see the tub is not the same. Valkyrie ****pit is narrow as. Valhalla is more spacious. Now do you have any idea how much time goes into designing a carbon tub? That needs to be crash proved etc? Do you have any idea of the costs? Plus the costs of the crash testing alone? You are right, I do not have the prove, or the factual numbers of AMs costs for that. Do you? I can only applaud AM for building a specific tub for Valkyrie, that was the only way to achieve the aero shapes etc. But that does not mean the price of development of the Valhalla could not have been lower if they had a tub they could re-use. Valhalla is limited production. Yes 1000 pieces is a lot more than Valkyrie but the price tag is also a lot lower. Sure they will ad a spider version as well, wich will help with the numbers and spreading the costs. But it will always be more expensive for AM, so lower margin, than if they could have re-used a carbon tub.
Maybe AM found a clever way to keep costs down, yes I do not know for 100%. But even if they could re-use Valkyrie tub, or parts of it, re-design, make it wider, that is all not easy plus needs new crash testing. Again, it will always be more expensive than if they could have re-used a tub, that is all I was saying. Does that still spread fear in your opinion, TinyMan?
Let me make your day: I find the Valkyrie, even with all its levels of extremeness, a beautiful car. Its a crazy thing to see and hear but it still has beautiful lines. I hope AM can finish production asap so they can start up Valhalla sooner rather than later. The whole three car mid engine program was a good idea for AM. But, to make it profitable they have to play it smart. I am still hoping there will be a third model in the future.
Have a great day TinyMan, pease stop attacking me for no reason.
