I get the point you are making Primer Design, Gold Standard, Accurate, Sensitive etc
But surely X-Ray is only still used because it is cheep and widely available? Which as I understand it the Primer Design test is expensive and in short supply.
The AVCT test is more likely to fit the cheep and easy to get hold of scenario if it gets through the obvious hurdles ahead of it. It is however unlikely to match the accuracy of the PCR.
The way I see it plenty of room for 10's of companies supplying millions of tests /month. You wouldn't want all your testing eggs in one basket with the global shortage of chemicals causing havoc.
Shipping swabs to America to be processed is madness, I assume they where primer tests with no reagents in the labs here.
