Tricky. Business wise though with all these you need to remember the margins. Avcta for instance do not manufacture. They own the ip so will get the rights a big royalty if they are approved of course. They are being validated still. Odx are just an excess manufacture with government loaned equipment. So again how much margin will they be getting. Novacyt own both ip and manufacturing. Plus the overall “ticket” is far bigger.

I do agree with this. My mate tested negative on lft at work but continued to feel unwell and tired. They had pcr test and tested positive. They caught it at work and then passed it on to the family. Lft are great at finding positive cases so more testing is great as we get on top of it. However they miss a lot of positive cases. Fast forward a couple of months to April when these tests started to get used I wonder how long until you find a study where ethe majority of attending an event end up with COVID due to the failure of lft not picking up a positive case who transmitted..... Then you’ll have a clamour to stop using them and we back to square one. This is something that can not be ruled out.

What I’m amazed at with the avacta article is why the study took place in Spain to start with and not the U.K. odd if the U.K. have fully backed it. The other odd thing in the article was the fact they got the number of pcr tests a week wrong by 50% they reported a number out by 800,000 odd thousand. Seemed slightly agenda lead but we know how it all works with journos.

Retireby40 you could then counter argument and say lft May have shorter shelf life going forward. Novacyt being embedded in nhs gives it foundation forever dare I say with nhs operations etc restarting. Before being admitted be it a and e or operations you’d have a test then a test after your operation before being released. Flying will be pcr for years to come. So enough space for both.

Avacta won’t have a test available until April at earliest. Then you got to manufacture what millions and get them sent out? Have at home lft even been approved yet? if they talk about testing the nations. Remember pcr capacity daily is well over 750k so you can bet they will be using this with swabs sent and then collected for mass U.K. testing to. Test test test
