Today there was a few times when the actual buy and sell price was identical.

I think you may have a limited understanding of the market and market makers. There are multiple market makers sat on the book at any one time. Do you understand layering? Algo bots? Those with direct market access can fill the book both sides to control the price whilst buying or selling. The mms will often position if they have been instructed to fill an order. Read up on it all and keep learning. I saw weeks of trading sideways with novacyt as it was held in a tight trading range whilst funds loaded up eg blackrock. I saw the same again with boohoo the price dropping. Being difficult to buy volume then wholla Morgan Stanley and t Rowe had took 10% of shares in issue and the share price started to rise.
